No, not interested. I prefer the Riv's softer OEM ride.

Guys. I talked to a dude from eibach yesterday and he told me that if I could get enough (he said 20) people together, they would run a production of springs for us. And he said the price would be lower than they sold for initially.

Just a thought.

If anyone is interested let me know. I may also post on Seville forums to see if I can get any interest there.

I'm in. I don't want Seville springs though. I want Riviera or PAU springs.....
The Seville springs are too bouncy. They're made for a V8 heavier car.

Yeah, he said that we could basically start with that design, then go for a higher rate or more drop or whatever we wanted. I think a stiffer spring and like 1.25" or 1.5" drop would be cool.

Hell yeah. I'm actually pleased as all hell with how stiff my car is now. I'd just like to be lower...

I would think the higher spring rates would be firmer for our Rivs.

I'm in for Eibachs, pending they use higher spring rates.

PostSubject: Re: Group Buy: Eibach Lowering Springs   Group Buy: Eibach Lowering Springs EmptyFri Sep 19, 2014 6:29 pm

No. The Eibach are progressive rate (which you already know). What happens is that being that the car is lighter, the springs don't sit as they should at trim level. There's extra "spring", and causes the car to be bouncy. Understand?? Weird explanation I know.

I put Eibachs on my T-bird. They had no T-bird kit, so I used one from a Mustang GT. The back end was tight as tight could be, but the front end was bouncy as all hell. At least more then it should've been because the springs were built for a V8, not a 4cyl Turbo.

Remember:  Buried in this or another thread (maybe the F41 thread) it is clarified which model years use/share which springs.  Buick changed front spring part numbers, and in theory spring rates and perhaps actual construction, over the 95-99 Riviera model run.

If I recall, the rears are all the same.

But if you are researching fabricating lowering or increased rate springs, or looking to source a "group buy", be sure which springs and model years you require or provide for samples.

Good point. It would have to be '97-'99. '95's and '96's are a bit SOL on this one unless a conversion is made.

I would be in for a new set. Im sure mine are beat to hell after 100k in the riv, and i got them used.

So if the aluminum V8 in the STS is heavier than the riv's front end, why does the riv sit .5" lower with the eibachs than the STS with the same spring?

I'd also be in for a group buy if eibach could make us some generic adjustable coilovers.

95 and 96 share springs. 97 through 99 share the new design. Rears should be the same for 95 through 99.

This is seriously possible guys. I'm going to email eibach Monday and let them know how many people are already committed. From there, we can discuss and come to agreement about the drop and rate that we want.

Everyone! You know you want springs!

Sorry dude! I scanned right over your post. Eibachs are the motivation I need to convert to the 97+ suspension. The drop would look sexy with my wheels!

We have 7 confirmed as of now. I swear every newb that joins the forum starts posting about how badly they want their car to sit lower. Where did they all go? Come out of hiding!

Glad there is so much interest. This is awesome! I don't have any real experience with group buys... Would I just shoot eibach an email saying we talked on the phone the other day then tell him how many people are in? Then try to negotiate price from there?

I voted "no" but that vote's not worth much as mine is a 95 wink

....possible if I did a front end swap, but I think I'm leaving this one as a highway cruiser cool

Good deal if you guys can get enough to buy in. Good luck! thumbsup

Curious, how will you get Eibach to get the height and rate correct since the Seville springs aren't quite right (according the posts above) and Eibach hasn't made Riviera springs yet? Will you send them the F41 springs and say "just like these, just 1.5" lower"?
