Pittsburgh Meet! August 14th-16th!!

Hey everyone,

I talked it over for a while with my wife and my Dad (as he started my love of Buicks and owns the property next to mine) and they're all for having a meet at our house!

We have 8 acres of total land so there's plenty of space for a bunch of cars/people. My wife and I have plenty of room in the house for anyone wanting to stay, or there are local Hotels. Food, bars, parts stores - everything is within 10-15 minutes of us.

And let's not forget my garage with the lift in it

I'd say we're pretty set up to do this. Now here's the thing, I've never hosted anything like this before but I went to a Bonneville meet up in Michigan for a few days last year and it was a blast meeting people and seeing cars I haven't seen in person before. We did a lot of running around and doing repairs and modifications to member's cars. I'd like to do something like that.

What I'm looking for is suggestions from anyone for anything involving a get-together like this. We also need to figure out some sort of date that works for all of us. I was thinking stretching it out over a weekend, a Friday-Sunday sort of thing.

August 14-16 is my initial thought.The weekend after that (21-23) would work too. I'm open to anything. I want as many of us here as possible!

I'm located in Cecil, PA, which is about 25 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA, and we're just a few miles from I-79.

I'm down. The earlier the better since school starts late August/early September.

I'm within a good driving distance and interested.
We often drive to the Pittsburgh area.
It would be cool to put some faces, names and Rivs together.

Ok, just a question since you have a lift. Assuming I bought headers and a GenV/IC would anyone want to help put them on? I have no problem doing them myself but if I could be surrounded by people that have done them before it would be awesome.

I've done both, so I'd be happy to help!

Matt - earlier is fine too, we'll see what sort of concensus we agree on . Also, i do not have a welder. That's something I havent gotten into yet. Maybe someone is able to bring one? I have 220v in the garage.

Also, yes any projects that would be easier with a lift, please do! Headers won't be bad woth the lift and theres plenty of other space to do the Gen V if anyone else needs the lift at the time.

Im sure we're all more than willing to help! We have a great community.

Oh and another thing. Dad and I have a LOT of tools but not everything. If theres something you need before you make the trip, make sure to ask if I have it or not!

Awesome. What kind of welder? TIG or MIG?

Also, if anyone needs any specialty tools for any work you want to do, im not opposed to buying them as long as I can keep them😊

And while Im thinking of it, if anyone does want to actually camp with a tent outside, my back yard is small and level. And I have a nice big grill if we want to cookout or whatever. We can even all pitch in for a dtack of burgers or something and go nuts.

And dont forget a bonfire! I always have plenty to burn.

I can be the grill master! I was a line cook for a while! Haha

It's a MIG IIRC. I'll be assistant cook, worked in a few kitchens before so I can get around.

Andrew, you should make this thread into a poll so you can see who is committed to going.

I will once we have a date set. That will make it easier for me to keep track of everything going on. Thanks for the suggestion!

That date is definitely ok with me. Then again pretty much any weekend is ok with me.

I should see if I can get a passport in time...

That would be awesome Andrew! You deserve to ride in a car you helped build . It's complete BS you need a passport, but I don't need to tell you that.

Oh, another thing I thought of. Plenty of beer distributors around here, and even some local grocery stores carry booze. I don't drink, but you are all welcome to bring or drink whatever! I have a bar in the basement.

Jeep and Sebring have both been sold (posted awhile ago about it). Replaced the Sebring drop-top with a '96 Camaro drop-top. I'm going to start working on that one tonight. Needs a rear main seal and an oil pan gasket.
