The Unicorn? Empty
PostSubject: The Unicorn?   The Unicorn? EmptyFri Jul 10, 2015 4:41 pm

Hi:  i've been off this forum for a while.  Keeping my owned since new '90 Integra running well, and my eyes open for a "Unicorn" Riviera.  A local dealer has a '97 listed for $5500CDN (about $4400+US?).   Low mileage (110Kkm = 60Kmiles, approx.).  Supercharged.  Loaded.  Local car (mild winters).  No reported accidents.  It's black - a color my wife doesn't like at ALL.  It's not maybe my first choice either, but I figure with wide whitewalls mounted on black steelies it could look nicely "vintage".  It's got the light colored, leather interior which could be updated with some black accents and maybe a bit of carbon fibre here and there?

The reported expensive issues with '97 front ends is a bit worrisome, and the price seems somewhat high.  Also, my 'Teg just got a timing belt, and other pricey mechanical upgrades which makes it reasonably reliable for a few years.

Thoughts?

5500 cdn is $4400 US.

I still have the modded riv with lower mileage for sale here.  Basically right next to you.   I'll drive it down to Vancouver if you drop me back off at the ferry.  I guarantee you it's a better buy than the one you're looking at.

Thanks for the catch on the currency conversion. I've editted the post.

The black '97 is at Carter GM in Burnaby. I may be visiting Nanaimo in a few weeks (friend just moved there). Maybe I could drive up Island to check out your Riviera.

Yeah man, seriously, buy Jason's. I would call it the perfectly modded DD Riviera.
