| Hello everyone! Its my first time posting on here but this site has helped me a lot in this past year. I have a 1995 Series 1 Riviera. I freaking love this car . But ever since ive got it ive had constant issues (only has 102,000 on the engie) So, my biggest issue to date is my supercharger. It makes a horrible rattling noise at every RPM (not always constant though). Ive done a lot of research and thanks to the write-ups here i was able to install a new coupler with the SC still in the engine. After i did that i fired her up and the rattle remains(will post video soon). That leads me to believe the bearings are going bad. On top of that when i did remove the cone the rotors looked like the Teflon was coming off. But being the cheap man that i am i wanted to pursue every possibility before i remove the SC. So, I found that my drive belt tensioner and my idler pulleys all have side play and the bearings are bad so i just ordered those a few days ago. I have a new timing chain and gears, new Harmonic Balencer, New power steering, new supercharger tensioner, new spark plugs, water pump etc installed. She drives smooth idles a bit rough but i still need to do my injectors but other than that it rides better than my brand new truck. So, if it turns out to be a rebuild (im pretty sure it is) does anyone know if i would be able to do it myself or does anyone know who i should send it to thats not going to kill my pockets but do a good job? By the way! i have already taken off the belts and started the car and it sounded very smooth so the engine seems good. i put the supercharger belt on and BOOM there is the rattle again. Looking forward to seeing what yalls input is! | |

| If you have a local UPull yard around, I would consider that option. Aside from the coupler, it is not often that these Superchargers fail. I have gotten them from our local yard for around $30 each and about 20-30 min labor. Another positive of pulling it yourself at a yard is you will get a practice run at removal so you know what you're gettig into.
Also, the condition of the Teflon coating on the rotors is not such a hige concern. It does wear off over time and there have even been people who have stripped the coating intentionally with no ill-effects

| Awesome i would love to get one from the wrench a part here in austin. Just need to find a LeSabre or Park Avenue with the supercharger still in it. And does that rebuild kit include the snout bearings and the needle bearings? Still thinking about maybe sending it off to get it rebuilt what do yall think? | |

The kit I purchased a few years ago included the bearings and coupler. I will try to find details today.

| Took a whole to find this - it's been ** years ** since I overhauled my supercharger. The folks I got the parts from (DaRossi LLC) are still in business, their web site is a lot less rustic than it used to be. Here is their link:
http://darossillc.com
You will also probably want the ZZP puller to get the snout pulley off. Rent a similar one at - this eBay LINK or buy one (rental is available here too but is little more $ than the previous link) at this LINK to ZZP.

| Thanks! once i get the pulley off the rest should be easy right? dont rely need special tools to remove the needle bearings or the shaft bearings? Also, would all i have to remove is the snout bearings and the needle bearings in the housing? does the rotor pack have bearings that need to be replaced? | |

Your best bet is to email/call DaRossi.
