i have a 97 buick riviera that the last couple of times the key gets stuck in off position, not allowing me to remove key or to turn to lock position, is there a shift interlock in the console shifter, or how can i fix this issue? Any help from the knowledge out there? Thanks fellas.

Maybe it is time to replace the ignition switch.

If your key is getting stuck, it's more than likely that the Ignition Cylinder is going bad. The tumblers are wearing out and causing it to stick. You could always try spraying some liquid dielectric grease in the key hole (don't drench it) and see if the tumblers free up. If they don't, it's time to replace the cylinder.

I'm on my third lock cylinder, second ignition switch.
