Knocking engine at 245,000 miles new Jasper 3800 ordered

  245,000 miles on my original 1999 Riviera 3800 series 2 engine finally began knocking.  Will install a new Jasper 3800 they claim they build this engine using modern materials and it will be better than from the factory?  Will also increase exhaust from 2.5 to 3 inches intercooler already installed.  Less than 100 of the 1999 model exist I have 4.  GM took all the imperfections from previous years and tweaked them out of the 99 model then quit making it 1,787 built.
