Hello everybody! I saw this site mentioned on the V-8 Buick board so I had to sign up.
I’m a long time Buick owner and Buick performance enthusiast and I bought my first car in 1974, a 1967 GS 400, four speed. I’ve had many more various Buicks and Buick powered vehicles since then and I am partial to the 455.
However, I have owned a 1995 Riviera since March, 1998 and I just picked up a 1999 in July. For a while now I’ve been keeping an eye out for the latest model I could find because my wife and I love the car and we’d like to keep our latest one as long as possible. Actually the ’99 is, and the ’95 was, my wife’s daily drivers but I’m in charge of upkeep and driving them when she’s not.
You can’t beat the looks of the car especially with it being one of the few two doors that are available. I really love the feel of the supercharger when you lay into it. Even in the big Riviera it is just like a nice running V-8 but with the gas mileage of a V-6.
The first year I had the ’95 I ran a 15.66@89.5 with a 2.27 60’ time with only a gutted airbox and K&N filter. I only raced it once because I have other cars to run and it was mainly for daily duty. Since then though I’ve been thinking about a Series II SC engine car and now I have it so there’ll be a few mods done to this one although nothing too radical. I’ll probably get it to the strip once while it is stock just to get a baseline. (FYI: To show that I’ll take anything to the drags, at least once, I raced my Mom’s ’69 Skylark 350 2bbl, single exhaust, where it ran 17.0.)
This looks like the place to be for FWD Riviera performance so I’ll be here often.
Also, the ’95 is for sale so check out the want ads if you’re looking for a great daily driver.

Welcome, Mike. We're glad you're here! Your feelings for the Riviera closely reflects how most of us feel - a true modern muscle car with style, luxury, and the bonus of economy. We'd like to see pics of your cars if you get the chance. Enjoy the forums, and happy modding!
