| Hello everyone, my name is Steve and I just bought a 96 Riviera for my wife. I've always wanted a 95-99 Riv, as I think they are one of the best looking cars on the road today, not to mention the interior styling is 2nd to none.
I happened on this web site after I tried to change my supercharger belt (ha ha). I can see there are a lot of unique things to this car, and I have my work cut out for me. I only need to fix a few things and the car will be right....power seat won't move forward (found out the hard way), passenger door won't lock, and this morning the battery was dead when my wife got in to take it to work for the first time. Looks like I came to the right place for information.

| I noticed something about the power seats: first it was a good barganing point as when I bought the car I was told the seat was the only thing that didnt work so he knocked off 400 bucks...sweet but when I got home and started readingthe owners manual, all I had to do was clear the memory for the seats and they work fine now...give it a try before you start pulling motors and stuff...good luck! | |

| Welcome, Steve! There are a lot of things you can do for this car, and it seems like you have a lot of things to do for your car. Once you get them done and everything is fixed, you'll love this car for the next 50,000 miles before anything happens again! Remember, American cars are something you involve yourself in, so treat her right and she'll return the favor!
A few recommendations for improving your Riviera overall:
Change stock speakers. Nothing special, just replacements. I highly recommend the Infinity 5022i's for the front and 9623i's for the rear. Easy install, well worth the money! Look for big savings on Amazon.com.
Change the air filter. Again, no custom-fabricated cold air intake(CAI) or fender well intake(FWI), just replace the stock panel. I recently put in a K&N panel filter, and the engine breathes better than new! Forget the model number, but just go to www.knfilters.com and look for it there. Easy install, again, and well worth it!
Good luck with the Riv, and it's a good thing you got the s/c belt over with! That's a pain in the a$$ for sure!
