| I washed my car today, as I do every week. I had a long thin bird dropping on the hood (maybe 8 inches long, fairly thin, shaped like a J). Well, after washing the car it looks like someone keyed the car. The paint is completely dissolved and there is a deep gouge in the paint I've had bird droppings on the car before and it has NEVER done this. so wash your cars if there are bird droppings on it. | |

| Even if I just use a wet towel or something, I try to get that off as soon as I find it! Because, that will definitely leave a mark! | |

| Jason, you might try a clay bar. I don't know if that would take it out or not. Kind of depends on the condition of your paint. | |

| A clay bar won't take it out. Maybe a professional detail guy can if you're lucky. I've got a few problem spots where the previous owner let the bird poo sit and it ate through the clear coat too.
Word to the wise - don't let ANYTHING sit on your paint for any length of time. You never know what will leech in, eat, or otherwise ruin your paint. | |

| there is no way a claybar will work. I'll post a pic when my batteries are recharged. After closer analysis and taking it to two local body shops, it doesn't seem to be bird droppings, but vandalism. The white stuff may have been some random acid product | |
