| So, I've done some research on my "Transmission Slipping" code and think I've isolated it to my torque converter clutch.
I don't know anything about cars so can someone tell me how expensive this would be to fix or if there is any way that I can do something to fix it?
I just want power back to my Riviera!

| what year is it? and what engine does it have? what is the actual code you are getting? the parts to replace a TCC are not as expensive as the labor. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | It could just be a TCC solenoid? A friendly GM mechanic with a 'TECH II' can actuate the TCC solenoid manually a few times and sometimes that can free up a stuck one. Those solenoids (TCC and PCS) are extremely sensitive to dirt. | |

| It's a '96 with 123,000 Series II supercharged engine.
The code I'm getting is a P1870 code. I've read that it could be the torque converter clutch.
How much does it cost to replace a solenoid?

| unfortunately it's kind of labor intensive to replace the solenoids. I was told the trans had to be lowered to get at them. But since I needed a full rebuild anyway I don't know. | |
