| I made the assumption that they are the same as ours, but never actually checked into it before ordering a coated crossover from ZZP. I'm asking in part because it seems our rear manifolds are not the same as the W-body rears, so it stands to reason the crossovers could also be different. Anyone know for sure? | |

| I'm 90% sure they're slightly different. This is why you have to replace the transmission filler tube with a GTP or GS unit when you do SLP headers - the crossover will bump our stock tube. Might try to see if the crossover will fit with a GTP tube ($10 from ed morad) before giving up. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| The Riv uses the same crossover as the Wbody. The rear manifold is different only in that the downpipe attaches to the back about 1-1/2 inches closer to the drivers side. The front manifolds are the same.
When I did my headers I measured a piece of heater hose and cut out the metal center of the dipstick tube, then just laid the dipstick tube down on it's side under the master cyl. It just sits there until I raise up the hose/tube so I can check it. How often do you really check your trans fluid anyway?

| I've put the SLP headers on my car and if I remember correctly it was much different from the OEM crossover. But then I wonder why they would just sell the crossover? | |

. Thanks Derek, I knew the rear manifold-to-DP was offset a bit, didn't know if that affected the crossover design. I won't be installing before next spring, so I'll update when that happens. Still hoping ZZP or their coating co will take care of issues with the one I was sent. Gotta email Zoomer again...

| Zoomer is going to exchange the crossover I was sent, that had the coating badly beat up from what I consider inadequate packaging. It was shipped to me with the 2 flanges not secured in any way, and they fit loosly on the pipe. So every time the box was tossed from truck to conveyor to truck to whatever, the flanges were banging around against the pipe, and the coating looks like hell on both ends. I advised him a couple weeks ago that the flanges need to be secured somehow so they aren't so loose in transit, and he said it would be addressed. We'll see how the 2nd one looks when it arrives. | |

| Take note, with that coating being so fragile, be very careful when you install the piece. If you find out it doesn't fit, you want to be able to return it in good shape. If it wer me, I'd wrap it up in something during installation. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Well, I'd think the crossover would be pretty easy to install w/o beating it up, but wrapping is a good idea anyway. I figure if it doesn't fit, and I can't GET it to fit, I'll have to just resell it, since I won't be trying the install til spring. Shouldn't be hard to resell to the W-body market. I'm much more concerned about protecting the Plog coating when installation time comes. | |

| Be warned that the PLOG is not a direct bolt in - I had to take my dipstick tube out and remove a couple of heat shields. One of the heat shields has the bolt on the end of the head (under the coilpack), it's other bolt is very hard to get to above the A/C compressor. | |

| You can also bend the heat shields to fit, as I did for the header install. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Derek, thanks for the warning. I do believe I tangled with those heat shield bolts this summer when I installed my Front PEM. At the time, I swore I'd never touch that manifold again. Guess I changed my mind.... | |

| I enjoyed the porting work itself, though it's likely I could have gone further, and done a more polished job of it. But I think it turned out pretty well for my first time. It made no noticeable diff in KR though. But I think Aaron pretty much determined my fueling needed to be tweaked. | |

| I do have my PT now, but haven't been able to do anything yet, besides install it and try out the Scantool. I need to find time to do a lot of reading. In the meantime, Aaron's been helping me out a bit. | |

| AAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!! It's been 3 freakin' weeks since I emailed pics of the Plog to ZZP's coatings shop to review my quality concerns, and just TODAY the GM emails a reply to this morning's update inquiry to tell me he never got my emails and to resend them. Just about enough to piss a guy off. | |
