| Mine were grey also. You'll have to paint them. | |

| If you want it to look good, I would take it to a body shop. You/they will have to treat the plastic with something in order for the paint to stick well. I read in another thread where you said your ride is black. You'll have to post some pics on the showroom thread so we can see her. With the black paint, I recommend Zaino wax. It will get rid of any lines and fine scratches in the paint. http://zainostore.com/ You'll want the Z-5 | |

| paint is around $150-175 per panel. the grey skirts are what all rivs had from factory, but when you get it repainted they usually paint the skirts b/c its easier/cheaper than removing them. makes for an easy way to tell if the riv has factory paint or not. to me the only car that looks good with color skirts are black and Andy's lime green riv and use imageshack.us to post pics. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | dont spend less than $2,000 on a paint job and expect it to last more than 2-3 yrs, else you'll be getting it repainted. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | If you're going to sell it next month...MAACO is fine. Otherwise, save some more Franklin's and do it right. | |

| Subject: PPG Global Paint System Lifetime Warranty Fri Feb 09, 2007 8:44 am | |
| I would suggest finding a PPG shop that is part of the PPG CertifiedFirst Network and one that uses the PPG Global Refinish System. It is PPG’s premier refinish system. The PPG Certified First Network shops provide a written lifetime warranty on paint work. The PPG Lifetime Paint Performance Guarantee covers the areas of the vehicle refinished with specified PPG products for as long as the customer owns the vehicle. The refinished areas are covered for the following paint failures: - Peeling or delamination of the topcoat and/or other layers of paint - Cracking or checking - Loss of gloss caused by cracking, and hazing - Any paint failure caused by proven defective PPG automotive products which are covered by the guarantee
I had my Riv refinished using PPG Global and have been very satisfied. The web link for PPG certified shops is:

I had this done in 2005. The bumpers, lights and trim pieces were all removed from the car and it was sanded down to the primer. Total price was $2000. The car was in the shop for over three weeks. | |
