| I mentioned a squeaking in my knock post in the engine/tranny section. I thought it was my rear brakes but the noise doesn't change when I brake.. it's just a constant squeaking that sounds somewhat like a bearing. I don't know much about tire components, but could it be a bearing in there somewhere? | |

| I can't seem to hear it when I drive past anything on the drivers side, I only hear it when the sound echoes off an object on the passenger side.. i'm thinking it's in the rear, but i'm not sure. it does incrase when speed changes, I haven't noticed it on turns though.. | sounds like a brake pad warning squeal to me. Does the sound change when you touch the brakes? | |

| not at all. it's just a constant squeaking as I drive. It doesn't occur when i'm just sitting idling so i've ruled out pulleys/belts | |

| which sounds just like a pad squeal. It is a little metal tab sticking off the brake pads. When the pads wear down the metal tab rubs on the rotor to make a squealing noise. It's like that on purpose. It only makes noise while the wheels are turning.
Sometimes when they just start to touch, the sound changes when you touch the brakes. Sometimes the sound is a steady constant whether you are on the brakes or not.
Check your pads... | |
