Yeah it sounds loud on the video but really its not that bad. I mean obviously is going to be louder without cat or res but I really dont hear anything but those tires lol. Those are 20" boss 318's. SUUUUUPEr heavy though. I'm trying to sell/trade them on CL right now for something smaller and lighter.

Fellas,

Are these the downpipes that fit our cars?
http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/249-ZZP-Downpipes.aspx

If I did replace it all, I was thinking the 3" 304SS (without cat) pipe... I would simply add the cat separately using this part

Thanks for all of the advice!

Oh, and in case anyone cut off the stck rez and regrets it, a factory replacement unit (made by Walker) can be had for not much cash...

Those look like stock replacements. Are you planning on installing headers? Before I'd waste any of MY money on a replacement downpipe, I would save another $150 and get the headers I did.

http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1886

Those come with a downpipe and can easily be bolted on in an hour or so and cost me $240 shipped to my door. Took a little working with to seal up the leaks and junked the clamps they came with and replaced with some from Jegs.

I wouldn't say a replacement 3" dp is a waste of money, and there's no way it took you an hour to install a set of headers. The stock DP is very restrictive and a replacement DP is a quick and easy way to free up the exhaust and drop a few degrees of KR. I got the SS headers for my riv and ended up getting a Bonneville 3" dp for Mel's riv, which keeps the car quieter than headers and actually takes only an hour to swap. I wasn't overly impressed with SLP knockoff headers. You definitely get what you pay for.

I'm fast bro.....reeeeeeeeal fast. Front was easy, had someone else working from top while I worked from below on the rear header. Downpipe back was a different story, exhaust shop did that.

This is how the Riv sounds with the mufflers removed. 2.5" pipe from the factry rez on out. Bigger than stock tips add to the sound.

Gets boomy in the car at around 2000 RPM. Might end up putting up some Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flows or the Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers...

I'm confused i thought that people on the forum were using the other zzp downpipes with the series 2 rivs. Do the bonneville downpipes fit better?

sorry i'm not sure how to use the quote option i guess..
