| According to the owners manual(99 Riviera), the chassis should be lubricated on a regular basis? I did not see any grease fittings on the car, are there any places that should be " lubricated"? The owners manual also says to check the oil level in the supercharger every 30,000 miles, and top off as needed, it never says anything about changing the supercharger oil but I plan on doing it soon... Thanks Bert | |

| i try to change the s/c oil every 50-75k miles, but it is suposed to last a lifetime (along with the coupler, but it aint so) there are 2 zerk fittings for each of the front wheels, and 1 for each of the rear if i remember correctly. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. Bert lol.... if you ever replace them with NEW ones....the replacements will be greaseable...not your stock ones.. Like Matthew says, there are two on each front wheel, the outer tie-rods and the lower ball joints, mine came from the factory that way? | |

| On the '98 there are also a couple on the rear links. Easy to see if a wheel is off.
I end up greasing the front and rear fittings when I do my winter/summer tire changeover. Each Easter and each Thanksgiving approximately. I use Mobil synth grease, the red stuff.
I have also used a little needle gadget from AutoZone to grease te ball joints. Basically you poke it under the lip of the boot over the ball joint and pump it up.

| OK, I looked again. Third time, there are no grease fittings on this 99 Riv. None in the front and none in the back. Perhaps they started using sealed components sometime in 1999... Bert | |

Albertj Unfortunately that doesn't get the grease _inside_ the ball joint where it's needed, just into the boot. It may help but only through osmosis

Bert . YOU ARE CORRECT, I just looked at one of my '99's and there are no grease fittings. I'm not sure when they did away with them, they are there on my '95?

| Getting grease onto the ball near it's base seemed to be enough. Time will tell I guess. Albertj | |

Albertj i was getting gas and there was a jiffy lube next door so i decided to get this done since i never have before and its coming up in the maintenance schedule. they did it for free of course since its such an easy job... the guy told me there were 2 fittings in the back and none in the front? maybe he rushed and missed them because they did it for free? idk i'll have to check for myself but this is for a 98' riv ....

| to grease the front joints you need a needle attachment for the grease gun to squirt grease into the boot. Problem is that pierces the boot and lets the grease leak out.
If your Riv is original there are not any front grease fittings.
