PostSubject: new from fl   new from fl EmptyMon Feb 25, 2008 5:50 pm

this is a great site! i have learned so much from just reading alot of the topics and post. my husband brought home a 95 riv s/c that he bought from a young kid for $200, the car had broke down (he buys cars to junk ) . one of the pulley's broke and the belt. i loved the car i had never seen that kind before, so i had him repair the pulley and belt, but it smelled hot and loud noises coming from the s/c also the temp gauage did not work nor the lights for the shifter and there was a pcm sitting in the back seat. (we never keep the cars he brings home because we dont know the history and its expensive to replace parts sometimes)any ways to make my long story short, i looked on the web and found this site and started reading............i am not mechancialy inclined by any means but this site made it easy, we ordered a coupler and other stuff from zz, replaced temp gauge, sensor, coolant and also looked at the old pcm and took out the prom and put it in the new one, now gauges work. i want to thank everyone for sharing their stories because that is how we fixed the car, now i get to keep it:) still some rough idle but we have yet to change spark plugs and wires. thanks again

wow! its always great to hear our site helped keep one more riv from going to the crusher.
$200 is quite a steal, even if it had no engine at all!

Woo another FL member! 200 bucks is quite the steal, you probably didn't spend much more than that to get it running good lol. How many miles? Pics?

For $200, that's an amazing deal. If the interior's in good shape, it's definitely a keeper! All you need is new spark wires and plugs, and those shouldn't set you back that much either! Glad to hear that this site helped restore another '95 Riviera!
