| Hey, I posted here awhile back about getting an OEM HU. Well, my tape player is going nuts again. But some mentioned that other cars share our HU's too.
What cars would that be? Park Avenue?.... Just curious, because if I go to the salvage yard I can look for more than a Riviera.
Gracias Amigos!!!

| I'm pretty sure the HU is unique to the Riviera, however all the 90's GMs share the same wiring clips in the dash, and most of them are the same size. I know that while the radios appear different, they would swap out very easily between my Roadmaster and Riviera. Any GM unit that is the same size (theres larger and smaller ones) will plug in and work, but I don't know if you can get an exact replacement out of another model... | |

| the regal, lesaber, PA, and century all look about the same. i bet they would all fit too, since the wire harness is the same and they are all double din. now weather the mounting holes are the same or not IDK. on a side note: i cant really remmember how ours looks since i hve had aftermarket for 3+yrs, so maybe i'm not the one to be posting a response _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | The wiring harnesses are definitelly NOT all the same. It's a pretty safe bet to get something 95+ with steering wheels controls and/or automatic air conditioning. Those all usually share the same kind of plug. As far as size goes, you should be fine. If it looks like it'll fit, it probably will. Generally speaking, any of the higher end GM cars around this era aught to be ok to plug in. If you're going to a bone yard for it, make sure you can get the security code for the deck before you buy it. A lot of times, you can just ask for the deck and they'll already have them sitting somewhere. | |

| good idea is to print out a photo of a stock radio front & rear & take that with you to the salvage yard.
I hadn't been looking into PA's.hmmmm | |

| Another thing to think about when switching the radio from another model... make sure that other model has the power antenna... just thought of that. | |

| You can re-solder a whole bunch of stuff in the display (write up about that somewhere) or get a new one... I was lucky and got a used one that worked, but it's lights are starting to go out now too... | |
