| I've got a CD player I just don't have the CD holder. I don't think I'd want that anyways, I don't trust the discs not to get knocked back inside the car somehow. Plus I'd lose the CD cases then, I don't have cases for most of my cassettes. | |

| Here are my pics of the new chrome grill Here are some of the visual mods I'd hope to do eventually: -Spoiler - Possibly the one with the LEDs in it, otherwise the kind that just lips off the trunklid -Chrome Tips - I think it'd be cool to get the pipes to come out the sides right before the tires and possibly use some rectangle tips off a Camaro but some double downturned tips would be cool as well. I could see that as being a major PITA to do but it's just an idea. I'd still like to put some nice tips on it. Right now I'm thinking about dual double upturned tips that looked pretty beefy. I also found some oval tips that look just like the factory ones but they're chrome. -Rims - I'm thinking about putting 18"s on it (Would go 19"s but I'm thinking performance wise 18"s would be the best compromise). I absolutely never tought of putting black wheels on my car but they kinda seem to look good with white. After my chrome grill mod though, I think the wheels need to be chrome too but I don't want anything that's too complicated looking. I really like more of the simple five-eight spoke rims although some of the twelve-fifteen spokes look good. I definately want it to show off the rotors and calipers though! -Wood Dash - I think this would make the car look really classy but some of the dashes I see just look like too much. I don't know if I'd want to do it if I couldn't take off the wood trim on the parts of the car that already had it on it. I don't want to just put it on top of the old trim because that would look really tacky and make the pieces too thick as well as layered. -Wood Steering Wheel - I'd love to find a wheel cover (The good kind you have to sew on) that has the matching wood coloring of my trim pieces and the leather matching my interior so it looks as OEM as possible. I wish there was some way to just put wood trim around the top and bottom parts of the wheel and leave the sides leather - I think this would look the best. I think these mods will really make the Riv look even more expensive than it already is and more high class like a Benz! I kinda wonder how the Riv would look if you were to take off the R emblem in the grill (And in my case finish the chrome stripping down the middle). I may just be doing too much thinking but it might look cool. Anyone is more than welcome to use my car to photoshop these mods on to it!

| If you aren't wearing a front plate, I might suggest removing the bracket. The holes won't look as bad as you might think. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Oh yes it does...It's got nasty stuff all around it that doesn't come off (I tried scrubbing the hell out of it and it is really on there whatever it is). I'll take it off when I get some time and show you a picture of what I mean. I really wish the damn old people who bought it never got the thing, I think they either lived in Indiana or Kentucky and neither require a front plate. | |

| I can believe that. I took mine off with only 25.5k miles, and already it had started chipping away the paint around the edge. I had to touch up the bumper quite a bit. I'm sure white shows it more, but it only gets worse if you leave it on, imo. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Well, being a perfectionist those little holes would bug the hell out of me. I'd have to get it sanded down, filled in, primered and painted to be happy with it. I'm not sure how much all that would cost but I figured it'd be expensive which is why I just left it as it is. | |

| You need a cool dude tag. Perhaps one with the Riviera badge on it. I will keep my eyes peeled at Bowling Green(GS Nationals) for one... If you can make it down there on Friday or Saturday it would be something you would never forget. Bert | |

| they can be cleaned up. its just oxidized. try 000 or 0000 steel wool and some plastic-x. then move on to just plastic-x and a towel. takes some elbow grease but it will look 7.5X better. they make headlight rest kits/cleaners but they cost a little more. nice pics btw. you should also use the plastic-x on the rear tail lights, those look pretty oxidized too. mine has those "scratches" too. it may be a problem with the bright white diamond tri-coat gm used. there is nothing you can do other than repaint it. they are not really surface scrathes, but more like the paint has cracked from heat/stress (spider cracks). i've yet to see another car with the same problem, and i see hundreds of cars a day at work (detail shop). mine is the worst on the top, hood and trunk top. plastic painted parts are not affected at all, and i cant capture it on a camera either _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | Thanks for the compliments guys. Like I said, I think the cloudiness in it is built up on the inside, it doesn't at all look like it's on the outside. My dad had the same problem with his GTP and he tried using this special compound on them and it worked for a little bit but got dirty a few weeks later so he just up and bought new headlights and cornering lights.
Matt, do the cracks look kind of blackish when you get up on them? Mine really stand out when I'm washing the car and get up close on it and if I wax it it's very noticeable (Hence I never wax my car despite the fact I'd love to do it...). | |
