| I don't believe there is a mass marketed tuner for S1 at all. More of a need for one to buy a chip buner, eraser and learn a software to understand what is on screen when you load the buffer on the chip.
There are a couple of places that specialize in doing this for others.

| If you don't want to go through the headaches of trying to tune a series 1 you can try emailing Ryan at GM tuners/Sinister performance for him to burn a custom chip for you. His website will also tell you what you need/ to know to burn your own chips. For him to burn a chip for you, you will need a scanner with live data recording capabilities.

| I am asking where or if I can have my OBD I computer tuned or exchanged for one that already is. The main reason is that I am doing an intake exhaust pulley swap on my 95' SC and am worried that I might driveability isues after all the work is done. Has any other 95 owners in here done all the above to thier cars? Are your cars still running fine after the fact? Or is tuning or replacing the stock PCM even available for our cars? Basically, I am trying to figure out what i need to do to help my car make the best power that i can and not blow up the engine because I didn't do something simple to support the mods I am performing to it. | |

| Right, this is an old thread, but I was looking and there is not a thread really dedicated for series one tuning. This is as close as I could find.
Here is a list of the info I have gathered in my travels:
Tuning: http://www.3800pro.com/forum/general-tech/26439-tuning-obd1-3800s.html http://www.hollandms.com/newbie/tuning_new.htm http://www.thirdgen.org/promintro
bonnivlleclub info: http://www.bonnevillepro.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2316&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&sid=b7db3af92fa88815fd8e3c1979c6cfa7&start=15
Replacement Chips: http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=39
Tunercat File for the 95 riv engine: http://tunercat.com/pdfs/ecm_$5B.pdf
Datalogging and tuner software: http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=68
ALDL Cable: http://www.obd2allinone.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd2
Converter and data-log cable: http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=73_64&products_id=128 (should do real time data log and flash) Might not be for 1.5....
Above *might* data-log and flash over just the cable. Below is if you want to burn chips separately and switch them in, or use the ability to switch between 2 separate chips.
For burning : Burner: http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=73_64&products_id=197
Adapter to read stock chips: http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=73_64&products_id=52
Switch between two programs(chips): http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=73_64&products_id=80 (comes with a chip)
Converter for in the car(Dunno if Riv needs) http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=73_64&products_id=126
Anyway, just throwing it out there, in case I lose my text file with all this.

| It looks like these Buick's use the same PROM based chip that the older Camaro's use, am I correct in this assumption? I know the 94/95 LT1 PCM's you had to flash program, but these look like you can pull and swap them. If this is the case I have been programming chips for my third gen for a while now, I would be able to look through and see what can be done.
Check out this link: http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadBinDefs.htm
Is that the definition we need for the 94/5's? I will pull the PCM from mine and look it over when I get a chance but right now my g/f is daily driving it.

| The ECM I got from the JY has the knock module "piggyback" to the actual prom. These are a bit of a pain to work with, I need to build an adapter to scan the chip over. The PCM I"m working with is actually from an NA car but I assume mine is the same. | |
