Tranny breather Empty
PostSubject: Tranny breather   Tranny breather EmptyThu Apr 17, 2008 7:01 pm

After we pressure tested the radiator, my g/f's dad asked me why I had the tranny dipstick tied down, and I explained how it kept popping up while driving. He told me it was because of some kind of transmission breather valve, and that it must be clogged/obstructed and that the pressure had no where else to go. He showed me the one on the top of the tranny, but that one was free flowing, does anyone know where the other is?

I will try to look it up in the ATSG book. I thought it only had one.

I'm pretty sure there's only the one vent.

I only see one vent.

Maybe it wanted you to check the fluid level?

IIRC it's near the filter where it checks the level. When was the last fluid and filter service?
