PostSubject: Hey'   Hey' EmptyMon Jun 16, 2008 8:03 pm

This weekend I'll be trading my 1998 Tercel (and $500) for a 1995 Riviera. Sounds like a hell of a deal, and its probably because I'm trading with my father. He was planning on selling the riv', but there was no way I could see such a beautiful, comfortable, powerful car just disappear. He's just going to sell the Tercel, which I have had absolutely no problems with, and has been one of my favorite vehicles - and figures it will sell much faster than the Riviera could. So it works out for all.

The riv' is a 1995 supercharged, "platinum beige" I believe is the color. Its all stock, with the exception of the Aurora wheels.

I'll probably have this forum read top-to-bottom eventually, but any information that ya's think would be good to know about anything regarding the riviera, please, don't hold back!

Hi Jamie and welcome to the site !

I'm new here myself and although I don't own a "new" Riviera I have been so warmly welcomed into the fold, I will always sing it's praises.

These guys are great !!

Most of the members are owners of the last, 8th generation of Rivs and even though I don't have one, I can tell you that they know their stuff.

Your going to love it !

Welcome to the '95 club! The Aurora wheels look great on the Riv, in my opinon. Anything that goes wrong with the car, you'll most likely find an answer here! Ask the moderator, AA, for general help, and he'll definitely swing by and post a bunch of links for you to check out.

So what's up with the phantom new member? Don't tell me I'm the only one who see a blank "author" box?

Welcome aboard. I gave my father my 98 Honda Accord EX (fully loaded with 80kmi) for the 97 Riv with 115kmi just because I liked it so much and the fact my late grandfather bought it when I had my 1964 Riv so we had some cominality (sp?). Dad later traded the Honda in on a 300C. Other than the '64 Riv, it's the best car I have ever owned and I think you'll feel the same. Congrats!

Welcome!

What are your plans with the car?

If you plan on extensively modding 95 is not the greatest year, but it is a great motor for some basic mods.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome \m/

My plans for the car, hmm. I'd say light modifications, mostly visual.

I'm thinking on tinting the windows, and Im going to have to repaint the car, as it's original platinum beige paint is pretty worn. I'd like to get the chrome aurora wheels for it, or maybe something aftermarket. I'm definitely going to have to replace the stereo. I've got a nice Nakamichi deck I'll probably try to hook into it. I've been looking at getting a sherwood dash kit for the riv, after seeing others mention it on here, I think they may be on to something good.

I don't really know much about the mechanics side of things, but I'll probably look at having someone replace all the fluids, check the plugs, wires and belts as well as having the brakes checked out.

Suggestions are totally welcome.

I'm more in to having the car run smooth and clean, than to have it modded right up... though if I could afford to go all out with it, I think I probably would.
