i have been looking at retuned pcms from intense racing. are these worth the money? It would be about 150 for my preferred tune, which is a lot less than an hptuners suite. Does anybody have one of these and if so how do you like it?

I have one.I payed 99.00 for it.Scott at Intense said it was good for up to a 3.4 pulley. It is set up so the fans turn on at 180, richer fuel tables, higher rev limiter.Problem is without scanning you cant be sure about KR.Also what you get is set in stone without the ability to modify for your car.It seems that all Rivs can be different in what tuning it may need.

For 150 , i'd save up and buy a used dhp tuner. Honestly it is the favorite mod i've done so far. Having the ability to scan and see how your car is running , and lets you play with shift points , and if you ever intend to mod further its a must have.

Plus sometimes people will help you out if you give them a quick tune , once you figure out of course.

I have looked incessantly for a used DHP Tuner ,E-Bay , forums etc..Where are all these used Tuners? I think I found one on a Regal forum, the guy wanted 350.00. I'll buy a brand new one for 500.00 and that willl be a HP tuner, which I was told by Intense is a lot better than DHP.If I could find a used DHP for 150 I would grab it, I would even pay 200 for it.

If you don't want to learn about tuning, the Intense is a decent PCM. It's what I bought to start. But then I wanted my own tuner... Make sure you get it with the stock timing table.

Will the HP tuner come with stock tables on it or do you need to get a file from someone?

For $500, it had better come with a stock BIN. With DHP you always have the option to reset to stock.

It won't matter i don't think. I know i had to read my pcm before dhp would allow me to make any changes , probably because its a 96 though. But i would imagine that HPtuners will have stock bins.,..

Do they even have anything similar to a 1.5 bin?

it is just a start, i dont really plan on going extreme by any means. 3.5 and exhaust are all i really plan on doing anytime soon, plus the pcm of course. anybody know what rivieras with a 3.5 get for e.ts? any ballpark guess is good

I'd guess about 15 flat, maybe high 14 with optimum tuning.
