| Because you are not running the tubes to a bracket from the sc snout, like the older wrap kit version, I guess they would. SC snout housing has a different bolt pattern between the two but the sc mounting holes are in the same place. I'm making it for a Gen V and if you think it will work on a Gen III fantastic. I just want it to work for my Gen V. It's pretty cool when you have to start worrying about if a 1"x1.5" solid aluminum bar bends.. | |

| You know a belt is slipping by observing a sharp loss in boost at a certain (usually high) RPM. Sometimes you can hear some brief slipping as a "chirp", but this is normal, and doesn't result in a hindered performance. It's just the inertia of the blower trying to slow down after letting off the gas.
A shorter belt will add tension, but it does not help with belt wrap/contact. Very small SC pulleys tend to slip more because A) they spin the blower faster, requiring more torque, and B) they have less contact area for the belt to grip. This cannot be solved only by adding tension. You must sometimes relocate the belt route so that it wraps around the SC pulley better.
The Riviera's stock SC belt routing is better designed than on a Regal GS or GTP, so we can usually run smaller pulleys without much slip. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| To some extent, you can help the issue by choosing your idler and tensioner pulley sizes carefully. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

AA- I hope you are not insinuating that I did not take into consideration my pulley sizes when building my motor...

| Not at all - looks to me like you put plenty of consideration into that idler! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Codith, All my pulleys have been changed to the 3.5" 8 rib. I will check on the belt size today... keep in mind I am running a oversized ballancer and 2.8" SC pulley with belt wrap.
Rick, It has been a while and I will have to find the invoice but I think the belt wrap cost me aroung $150-$175 for a machine shop to fabricate the belt wrap kit. That included the materials, pulley, and longer bolts too.

You are running an ATI balancer? That's good to know because that would have screwed me up a little bit. I'll be using ZZP's powerbond 8rib balancer. I've got a beltwrap kit essentially just like yours for the genV and a set of 8rib idlers in 3" and 3.5". My hope was to be able to fluctuate between a few pullies using one belt like I have been up to this point. That 4+" grooved idler pulley has been a godsend for me but I won't be able to use that on the 8rib so I'm trying to get just the right belt. Having a riv instead of a gtp makes this a little more tough... http://www.smoothflowpulleys.com/Belt_wrap_kit.html That's the beltwrap I have BTW. I think it should be functionally the same as what you have. Travis testifies he's a great guy with great stuff in case anyone is looking for something to stop slip.

Did you check the belt size by chance? btw did you change the the tensioner pulley because in the pics you posted of your car, it looks like that ones a 3" I just want to double check.
