HELP??? Empty
PostSubject: HELP???   HELP??? EmptyFri Aug 01, 2008 11:02 pm

ok i have two questions.

1. will a supercharger off a buick regal bolt on to a grand prix
2. will a supercharger run without the boost bypass valve?

heres the deal i went to u-pull-it and found a buick regal with the supercharger in it, well later i read on craigslist about a guy who wants to buy a 3800 supercharger for his grand prix and it got me thinking. I think this could be a way to get some fast profit. u-pull-it sells superchargers for around $100 so if i bought it and cleaned it up and sold it to him, he said in his WTB ad he would pay anywhere under $400-450, so thats a pretty good profit. Only problem i took the boost bypass valve off of the regal while i was there because i need one.

More info needed, but in general, yes to question #1. What SC did you find? M62 or M90? He won't want the older M62. Is he doing a top swap, or replacing an existing SC? Also, a newly rebuilt SC can be had for 400-500. An unknown from the junkyard is only worth 100 or a bit more.

Turtle..WTF is a fuel puck?

The differences from 96/97 to 98+ is 96 was coated/painted externally, and they have the vacuum tree by the TB that the 98+ don't have. They can be used w/o an issue by plugging the vac at the T.

You need a BCA/BCS to operate the SC bypass.

Why would they pay you $450 when they can get one rebuilt for less than that?

If you are doing a top swap, I have LIM, SC (with bypass), fuel rails, and TB available.
