| The only way to tell would be to teardown and inspect samples.
For my money I'd use a Delco remanufactured unit, but try to be smart about buying it.

| Ryan, have you had your alternator tested? I thought mine might be on the way out last spring(slight noise turning by hand), had it tested, twice. First NAPA said YUP it's bad. He tested it twice to be sure... I had my doubts, took it to Advance Auto, they tested it twice, and said it's just fine. I reinstalled, no problems. | |

| I ended up just going to Autozone and spending $150 and a new/remanufactured oem alternator. I really didn't feel like cutting corners and ending up with an alternator that might end up giving me belt slippage issues and what not. I must say how thankful I am that we have our alternators right on top haha, most of my inline-4 friends all complain about theirs being down on the bottom. | |

| Yeah, changing an alternator in an Integ involves removing a wheel and 3-5 hours of wrenching according to a friend of mine. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Yeah it's some work.. although I do marvel at their brainless exhaust setups. I'm replacing my muffler and rear bends right now, and it's frustrating without a welder.. I think i'm just going to order some steel bends and get it up there correctly. | |

| Reminds me of the alternator I did on a '99 Eclipse. Got it unbolted with the belt off in 20 minutes. Took me another hour and a half to get it out of the car. | |

Really? It's down in the bay a little bit but shouldn't have taken more than 5 minutse to wiggle out of there if you swivel the PS pump | |
