| Hey guys, how bad is it if your car hits the 7k redline for a total of maybe 1.5 seconds or a hair less? | |

| Okay good. I was out getting gas an I like to let it idle in neutral (vibrates when I'm stopped in drive) and as I put it into drive driving off kind of punching it (yeah, station was full of people and someone stole the spot I was coming for) it must've slipped halfway between drive and neutral or something and it fell back into neutral as I was driving off and this is when that happened.
Forunately the gas station I went to was out of 87 and 89 so I had no choice but 93! Certainly not my intention to ever run this car that high, although now that I think of it, I've seen videos on youtube of people putting cars into neutral and redlining them for a long time before they start to smoke and break down. I suppose it falling from drive into neutral is far better than falling into drive from neutral. I will definately keep my hand on the shifter next time.

| If it was in neutral , i think it will only go to 4k rpm as there is a rev limiter but i could be wrong and it might just be for park., it don't even think a stock 3800 could turn to 7k rpm , especially with stock exhaust... i could be wrong though. | |

| Well, it might not have been 7k - I was looking at the road but it was the highest I've ever heard the motor and I've revved it to 5500 RPM before and this sounded even higher. Neutral has no limiter AFAIK, but park cuts off at 3,500 RPM. | |

| The gas tank says "Premium Unleaded Only."
Don't you love your car?

Hey, who asked you? As a side note, we have some really strange "tongue sticking out" smilies. I mean it, they're just weird...

| No way you touched 7kRPM, even for a second. Whatever you got up to in neutral, it's never good to do that. Try to avoid in the future. 87?!! | Supreme only, and rev'ing does no good.
Unless.. .you need to rev the car to get the big bastard to lurch forward.

| I beat on my turtle a decent bit - "I do what I want" with it but you need to get the right gas in there brother, or get a custom 4.0" pulley made or something and a get it de-tuned. Or just go the grampa rout and never go WOT again. 91! | |

| The pcm will have limiters to keep you from getting over say 6K rpm. Most likely the fueling cutoffs are around 5800.
The car won't rev in N or P past 3500-4000 unless the WSS's are reading 15mph +, then it will let you have until fuel cutoff.
I won't give you a lecture on the gas, enjoy the motorswap.
