My Infinity speakers in the front still work just fine, but I noticed that my right front speaker has a little bit of "crackle" to it - almost like static, and it seems like it does it under more treble than anything. Sometimes it seems that heavier bass does it too.

Thing is, I don't really listen to music very loud and I'm on the stock headunit, so there's not too much power going to those speakers.

Is my right tweeter screwed up? Any ideas? Maybe I just need an amp?

There's a shor t list of dumb stuff that will do that but is not speaker failure.

THere ar elittle metal clips aorund the front speakers. Over time they can work look. There could be dirt behind the grilles. There could be a rsp from teh water barrier in teh doors.

If I were you I would set aside an hour or so to take off the door panel and be sure that stuff was right. Allow a little time to take the speaker grille off the door panel. So that you can check behind it for dirt and stuff.

Remove the speaker and closely inspect the tinsel leads connecting your tweeters. Also check the filter cap carefully. The leads may be broken or solder joints may be bad. Resoldering should fix. Cause: too much bass to front speakers look into a crossover or EQ to remedy future problems.

When you get the grill off, look at the rubber surround. The rubber or foam that lets the cone move back and forth may be torn.
