| well its a stock 1998 riviera (se) it says on the window sticker. its a series II supercharged 3.8 with 160k miles on it. it runs just awesome still tho. it gets on average about 19-20 mpg. but has been as good as 23. ill get pics up on my avatar if i can in a few days i gotta use someones digital camera then get it shined up nice and new like. the only real thing wrong with it is i lost 2 of the center caps since i bought the car last dec. so i took the remaining 2 off. now its got holes in the middle of the rims. kinda takes away from the beauty of the car but it still looks sharp. | |

| Mine's got 253k miles on it and still runs beautifully. You'll be nicely surprised to see how well it runs for so long. Are you planning any performance mods?
BTW, welcome. | |

| I bought a '97 SC for my mom a couple months ago and it was missing one center hub cap. Ended up buying it form the local Buick dealer for about $100 - - ouch - - but it really made a huge difference in the appearance of the car!! The car was a "repo" and had some dents & dings too, so I called one of those "paintless dent repair" guys, and he took out the 8 dents for about $450. THAT made a huge difference in the appearance of the car, too!!! Before, it was like, "Gee, nice car except for the missing hubcap and the dents". Now it's just, "Wow, nice car!!!" It has 152,000 on it and is still going strong. I fully expect my mom to be able to get at least another 50,000 out of it without much trouble.
Welcome to the group!!! | |

| I keep on wanting to take the governer out of it cuz i found out that it kinda shuts off the fuel supply at 105mph. i want to put a smaller supercharger pully on it but i keep on telling myself that ive got the trans-am for my race car and i bought the riv for luxury, gas mileage, and an occasional fun time if i fealt the urge to put my foot into it. i think i am going to keep it stock because of the amount of mileage it has on it as well as its a nice cruising car. it cant be beat on the road. smooth as butter. but its fast and fun and stops quick thanks to the discs all the way around and if i keep my foot out of it most the time i can acheve between 19 and like 21mpg. i drive 26 miles a day to work. half on highway the other half through the city. then we go for drives other places after i get off. the riv gets around and accomodates us both very comfortably with our nice toasty butts thanks to the heated seats. | |

| I hear you. I have enough projects/toys around ('78 Vette ragtop, '52 Suburban, 3800-powered Fiero..) that I shouldn't be messing with the Riv. But I still want to! I'm going to stick to stereo/remote start/alarm this winter, STB and stiffening the ride a bit in the spring and see how I feel in the summer. I might be out of money by then. | |

| Welcome!
Get yourself an Intense PCM and you have no more governor. Or buy a tuner and take it out yourself!
Enjoy! | |

| Your fuel intake will change depending on your driving habits... Not sure now but when I bought my Intense PCM it was $99. A tuner is around $400. It's a great starting point for your mods. Read stickys and FAQs, don't go too small for your first pulley... get a nice MPS. this site has everything you need to know. | |
