| Hey everyone. I'm gonna be moving from good ol' Flint, MI to the Wentzville, MO area in April after I get married.
Just wondering about any good shops in the area, and how many of you there are to hang out with.

| Sweet!! I'll be moving to St. Charles in May after graduation. Not sure about any shops, but I'll need a good one too. I know of some guys with Regals and my friend has a GTP. you might also try the STL ClubGP if you want. I haven't been there in forever, but they have meets every month I think. | |

| I forgot about the STL ClubGP... I'll have to check that out sometime. The one thing I'm happy about is the amount of snow my Rivi sees will be much less compared to MI. | |

| Well, I'm graduating in March and getting married in April. The fiancee already has a job with seniority and I don't have the heart to uproot her. Plus the economy around those parts is pretty bangin compared to where I am now. So I figured why not just move out there? | |

| You'll love gas prices, but we have a food tax. And no more pesky deposits on cans and bottles, lol. And don't freak out about the weather. It changes so frequently, but you'll get used to it. About a week ago we had freezing temps, and the next day it was near 70. Wentzville is on the outskirts of the STL area. It used to be fairly small, but it is growing fast.
You're right about the economy. You don't really feel the crunch here as you would in Michigan. Plus the cost of living is one of the lowest in the nation. I think you'll love it here. You get just about everything. Although our hockey team isn' as good as the Wings, or as good as they used to be, but they sure are fun to watch.

| I could get used to cheering for the Blues. However, the Wings still hold the #1 spot... However I don't think I'll ever feel the need to root for the Cardinals. That just seems like a 'cardinal' sin.
oh gosh my humor is going downhill fast.
Yeah I can't wait to take my Riv to the middle of the country. Smooth roads, cheaper gas, and an open highway.

| Well, I wouldn't count on the smooth roads. They can be pretty rough. They've gotten better in the last 3 years though. Just upset about the world series a couple of years ago? lol
It's hard being a Wings and Blues fan. You're just lucky that we give you all our old players, lol.

| So I made the move... Chillin 'out in Wentzville.
What's with the safety inspections? Never needed to worry about that before.
Is there anything I should be aware of before I get mine inspected?
Plus I'm gonna hate the whole front license plate... grrr...

| Welcome to Missouri. Most of us pronounce it Mizz-err-uh, FYI. I work for Dave Sinclair in St. Peters, You don't know who that is, but if you watch enough local television, you soon will. Opening day is today for the Cards, so I wouldn't be stuck in downtown traffic. You got kids? We have an awesome zoo.
Lemme know if there's anything I can help you with.

| Glad you made it. The weather is usually a tad warmer this time of the year, but there's a cold sprout right now.
What safety inspections are you referring to?

| Safety inspection is $12 Emission inspection is $24.
All it takes to pass an emission test is we make sure your check engine light works (comes on when the key is turned on). There are no diagnostic trouble codes stored in the pcm, and the battery has not been disconnected/dead for a whole drive-cycle.

| Also, the best place to open up your riv is 70, go west past Foristell, turn on your radar detector, and let-er rip. Not too many cops around here use laser. | |

| @nothingcame2mind http://www.dnr.mo.gov/gatewayvip/ As far as I can tell if you're in the St. Louis region, your car has to be emissions tested. Wentzville is close enough that the Riv needs to be tested and inspected in order to get it registered. http://dor.mo.gov/mvdl/motorv/faq/general.htm#q6
@EatDirtFartDust Thanks for the prices and info. Maybe I'll come and visit ya in St. Peters. Maybe grab a pop... er... soda.
No kids. I'm getting married on the 18th of this month. The fiancee and fam are from Warrenton. So I'm not totally alone in this state.

| If you (and the wife) ever have an hour or two to take a drive, and want to see a nice piece of countryside, take highway fourty down to highway 94. Then take 94 through "wine country" to Dutzow. It's nice and curvey, you can stretch the cars legs and see some cool stuff. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=MO-94&daddr=38.592858,-90.963192+to:MO-94&hl=en&geocode=FcCtTgId7CaY-g%3B%3BFYD-TAIdMGCT-g&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=13&via=1&sll=38.593529,-90.954266&sspn=0.106933,0.264359&ie=UTF8&ll=38.713911,-90.86174&spn=0.427011,1.057434&z=11
Motorcycles like to take the same road in the summer, so don't cut any corners.
If I take this route, it adds about 10 minutes to my drive home, but if I've had a crappy day, sometimes I'll go that way.

| Ya, I've never had an emissions test done. I've never actually called it a safety inspection. | |

| Looks like a nice drive in the countryside. Makes a nice little loop back up through 47 to 70. I'll have to give it a try with the wife sometime and stop at some wineries. | |

| Actually, take a right on Highway T in Dutzow, then left on TT, that will take you straight up to 70, and save you ALOT of time. Unless you want to take 47, but there's nothing special on it.
I updated it here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=MO-94&daddr=38.585612,-90.966969+to:I-70+E&hl=en&geocode=FcCtTgId7CaY-g%3B%3BFWogUAId1KqV-g&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=13&via=1&sll=38.608018,-90.883541&sspn=0.106911,0.264359&ie=UTF8&ll=38.695693,-90.777283&spn=0.427119,1.057434&z=11

| What's sad is I've only seen one other Riv on the road the past couple of weeks. Back in good ol' Flint, MI I would see 3 or 4 a day. I think I'm going through withdrawls... | |

| Here in MA, you're lucky to see ANY year Riv more than once every 6 months! Even at any All-GM auto show or local cruise in, I'm usually the only one showing up with my Riv's. For some reason, they just didn't sell many in this neck of the woods. | |

| Derek, Re: your observation...I had heard that from someone else once before. But, maybe the Riv's didn't sell well inside Rte 128 and throughout SE MA. When I owned both the 96 & 97, (I bought them @ South Shore Buick...now closed) I came to believe I was the only one to buy them around my area. Plus I had a real tough time even finding the 2nd one to buy. SS Buick had to seek out the 97 for me and found it in NY. | |
