Need 1996 Riv Bin File

Now that I know I can get a powertuner for my 96 riv is there someplace I might find some bin files or do I start from stock and play with it? I was hoping the spark and fuel cal files are the same in the later rivs and that I could copy those. Even tuning TR's with FAST boxs it was nice to start with a program that was close.

When you buy the PowrTuner, DHP should send you a starter BIN 1.5. This has some improvements, or you can just start from stock. When you get your tuner, I can send you exported data that you can copy/paste into your tables. Let me know what you need.

Thanks, I look forward to playin with it. I seen some screen shots and it looks kinda like the early cal com DFI software.

does anyone have a bin file for a stock 96 riviera for performance shifts an turn on fans for 180 sec after turn off? pretty much a dhp 1.0 if so please let me know

you'd have to ask tony or devin for one. devin could maybe send you my bin file. it's not stock, but not far from it.
i changed shift points, few code deletes, speed limiter removed, torque management update and fan turn on temps changed.

the riv's will not run the fans after the car is off like W-bodys do.

do you have a dhp tuner to write to the pcm?

I believe it did start out as a 1.5 tune from a vender then has the trans setting adjusted, little tweaks like tq mngt and cooling. VE tune, table modifier, extra fuel etc.

if you havent already done so, you may want to get the adjustable trans modulator since our pcms cant adjust trans pressure

when you upload the .bin to your pcm does DHP ask you anything wierd? I thought i heard that some DHP software was unable to tune 96's?

Both tony and i have been able to upload MANY tunes to 96's.
I do seem to remmember there being some hickup the very first time the DHP reads the 96 or does a full write.

I'm still fighting this 16.4 LTFT problem. Now its to the point where its around 8/9 at idle, but as soon as I give it any gas it jumps up to 16.4. I'm tired of messing with this f'n car and tired of smelling like fuel. I'm going to try a stock .bin and if that doesn't change anything I'm going to go with new injectors. No vacuum leaks anywhere although I do question how I have the vacuum lines ran. O2 sensor works fine, only thing I can imagine could POSSIBLY be wrong there is the extension is messing with something. I'm thinking removing the CAT and rear 02 was a mistake as well.

Can you send me your current MAF table? Just curious.

Just curious what bin are you using now

Using the 1.5 bin as a base with my personal modifications to it. Idle rpm and such. Haven't touched anything other than the MAF table to account for the LQ4 MAF because of the LTFT issue. I over wrote my stock tune before even knowing what I was doing. I've returned everything to stock using DHP but I'm not sure I trust that they are actually the stock settings. I was just wanting to compare.

Does anybody have a copy of the 1996 Riviera DHP 1.5 Bin they would be willing to send me? I've tried registering at the Bonneville Pro forums and the DHP forums weeks ago and I'm not receiving anything back.

To be honest, there isnt much for the 96 that 1.5 bin file is good for. What worked for me is just starting with stock and using Jerry's Tuning notebook which I sent you. If you have questions about any parameter in particular just ask here.

Sitting here just thinking about it, I think all that bin does is things like max speed, fuel injector cut outs, idle rpm and stuff like that which I just tuned manually in the stock bin. For a 96 there really isnt a whole lot of options there to change so its pretty easy to tell what you wanna change and what not.
