| i know they are called angel rings...but...they would not suit the car cos they do not have round lights. And guess noone is wanting to make the riv into a bmw? well i hope not.
see some cars all the time in city here in europe...more a teen thing to mod them into whatever they drive.
maybe...if you would want it so much you could but a line of leds into the light....like audi look.

| The only thing I thought of, was a straight line at the top or bottom of the headlamps similar to the Audi: http://image.caraudiomag.com/f/11735045/caep_0811_20_z+2008_Audi_R8+headlight.jpg
but I dont think I would personally. Really just posted the link in case anyone else had some better ideas.

| What this would be good for is lighting the center section of the rear mono lens. Who will be the first to do it? | |

| I really like these, and I got an idea of making them with orange LED's and possibly syncing them up with the turn signals/parking lights but have them in the brights housing. Of course, I'm not about to start ripping my headlights apart or tap into the wiring, so it's just another suggestion. | |

| Some newer Saabs have a fiber-optic line that runs along the tops of the headlight housings that serves as a daytime running light as the Audis have. Looks pretty amazing. I'm not sure if this sort of thing would be worth the trouble on a Riv though. | |

| One of these days you'll wish you hadn't butchered your old skool headlights that are impossible to get. | |

| You can buy angel eyes in most autoparts stores but I have not been able to find a pair that fits the lights on the Riv. A buddy of mine says you can take the clear stick things on the blinds in your house and mold them using heat into a circle and mount them around the bulbs in the headlights. I have not tried it personally but I would imagine it works and looks cool. | |

| That's what the link in the first post is showing. I have been thinking about doing these, but isntead of making a ring, I would just make a line that follows the top or bottom of the headlights, a-la Audi style. | |

| If I had time on my hands to play with this, and I did a ton of LED mods on my old Ford ranger, I might consider trying a halo around the inside perimiter of the grill. At least there I could run the ends behind the grill and there would be no visible wiring, tape, shrink sleeve or other cheezy lookin stuff. | |

| Angel eyes work good on cars that have these: Ironically enough, those are projectors with a built in angel eye around the lens. If you want angel eyes, get some projectors first...that's the only cars that ever come with them or are suited to them anyway. Interesting idea on putting lights in the middle of the lens, they would look best if they were two stage so they were on when you applied the brakes as well as just running lights. Not sure how you'd do this though, the LEDs that would work for the space are strip LEDs and not two stage. The ones that are two stage are meant to go in your taillight lens as your brake lights, they would be too large and incompatible with the area. Seems like you'd have to probably settle for it just being a running light only, but not too difficult to do. | |

| THERE'S A NEW COMPANY CALLED "cincity.com" that does custom work on head lights. I just found out from a friend with an infinity. It is not cheap but if you love your RIV , there really is no price too big. I've started e-mailing them on the possibillity of doing mine. The more they do the cheaper it will be . | |

| YOUR RIGHT.! It's o.k. I'm trying to make RIV's more popular and appreciated. Besides, I find it's cheaper to change your ride little by little than throw money at something brand new that stays the same. You get tired of your car or house, get it painted or add something new. You'll be surprised how much that will change the " new thing" itch. | |

| I'm thinking that with the new high-intensity LEDs that are now available, the thing to do is get an old set of headlights and place an array of LEDs in/on the reflector. With the surface mount ones, mount on the surfae of the low beam parabola or with the little plastic domed ones drill little holes in the reflector and mount them thru the holes from the backside.
Then you can just let the lens do its thing, because with the light sources being on the reflector's parabolic surface the LEDs will be aimed the right way pretty much mo matter where they are and the lens will grab and redirect the light right.

| Subject: Custom halo headlights? Wed Feb 15, 2012 1:55 pm | |
| Okay, so apparently custom halo lights are not an option for my car. This pisses me off to no end. Would I be better off baking my lens and taking it apart, sanding out the yellow then re finishing them turning them into halo lights, or buying an existing pair of halo lights and re fabricating my car to them with sheet metal? I'd like something in the shape of this if I do: But I'd want a flat back background instead of mirror. My friend has ones like that in his RSX Type S, and it looks amazing compared to stock, but he got it easy. It's a god damn ready made kit for his car. I HATE not having kits like that. We have to fabricate EVERYTHING. | |
