took out my injectors to clean them( 95 riv s/c) after looking around for a suitable cleaner i found acetone! wow! why not? i think i killed them! or at least they qualify for a dignified retirement. the car runs like shit now. it cant be any thing else but the acetone. i am a bonehead. ? headbutt

Fuel injectors have to be cleaned under pressure. frown I know a guy who does great work, last set I had cleaned was $87.

did you just soak them in the acetone? i cant see why it would kill the injectors since people put it in their gas tank. are you sure you have them all plugged in? installed new o-rings?

yeah i soaked em. according to a buddy of mine, acetone is very corosive to plastics and rubbers. i picked up a set of six injectors and atached fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator from a local junker for $ 86 bucks. not bad! ill instal em in a little while. i probably damaged, with acetone the plastic filter baskets with undiluted acetone. live and learn. ill send the damaged injectors,after i remove the filter baskets and see how they run without em,to be inspected. if they are beyond repair they will send em back with no inspection fee.
