| 1968, and same family since new. (Second owner). BUILT 455 and 400TH. Very red, very fast, picked up a few trophies along the way and showed many Chevy and Ford boys the tail lights. Glad I found you folks. Hope to share a lifetime of grief and happiness with you. Lots of info to share, and hope to learn a bit along the way. Sorry, it's not a late model turbo, but I hope the 1050 makes up for it. Hope there a parking spot here for this thing...... pics to come, looking forward to meeting you guys. John. | |

| Greetings! 455's rule! The 68 Riv is so cool. I can just see Dean Martin cruising around in one... Bert | |

| Welcome! There are quite a few of us around who have experience with the older stuff, myself included. We run a 455 in a '69 Buick Special, with fuel injection, nitrous, custom T/A cam for nitrous, custom rods and pistons, T/A block girdle... well let's just say there's nothing like a 455! I love driving my '98 Riv too, though... | |

| Welcome John. It's good to have some company in the "older generation" Riviera department. Mine aren't quite as old as yours (I have 2 '71 boattails, a '72 boattail I'm thinking about selling, and a '73 boattail I just ran at the Silver State Challenge here in Nevada at an average speed of 105 mph for 90 miles - our "rookie run"). One of my '71s is actually a Bonneville land speed racer (and is in my signature). We hit 182 mph last year and intend to go well over 200 this year. We have the first of the new aluminum Buick V-8 blocks from the protiotype run of 5. - and we're putting twin turbos on it!!!! Welcome again, Bill | |

| Welcome to the forum, John! Having an older Riv too('65'), the Riviera Owners Asso. is a good club to belong to also, for info on the older models. A few of us here, belong to it. | |
