| I own a '99 Riviera with 165,000 miles on it. While the only performance mod is a K&N air filter, I can still catch an unsuspecting Mustang by surprise. Since I travel a lot and get reimbursed by the mile, I am more interested in mods that would help increase my gas mileage at 70 on 75 miles an hour. I used to cruise at 80 to 85 but got caught a couple of times and decided to modify the stereo, slow down and listen to tunes. The bonus was that I started getting 27 to 28 miles a gallon this winter.
I have an Alpine CDA-9857 head unit running to an Alpine MRV-450 5ch amp driving an Alpine 10" S series sub in a custom box, Alpine S 6x9's in the rear deck and Focal components in the doors. It sounds awesome most of the time, I will detail some issues that I am working out in the Audio forum.
I am looking forward to having a Riviera board, I am a member of the GS and Reatta boards as I also own a GS and am thinking about a Reatta for one of my daughters. How do you add pictures to your posts?

| Welcome! Sounds like you have a nice ride. The best mileage I've gotten was with our 97 riv and that was 29 mpg on a trip from New Orleans to Kansas City. Amazing for the size and weight of the vehicle when you really think about it.
You can add pictures to your post easily by getting a free account at www. photobucket.com . Upload your pictures there from your hdd then copy the IMG code under the picture there and paste it to your message here.

| Welcome, I have gotten 28.5 out of my '99. For images, once you have them uploaded to photobucket or servimg or one of those use the properties line into here: using the brackets and "img" and the / where needed. | |

| welcome to the riv family. you can get better mileage by letting the engine run more efficent ie. better air in and out and a more complete burn. baisicly all those are the same for the performance world gut the air box and you will see better mileage and more power. a new fuel filter if your is old, new plugs (i recomend AL605's for your setup) and maybe run some sea foam and tb cleaner to make sure your not loaded up with carbon. oh and having the tires at higher psi will help too. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | Hey welcome indeed! On my way to the showroom section to checkout the system. I sound sweet (no pun intended). I have focal mids, tweets, mid bass, and 6X9 rears in mine powerd by RF amplifiers. I am extremely pleased with the sound quality of the Focals. Mind you, I've had Alpine pros, MB Quart, polk, and RF mids and highs in the past. Focals have my vote.
I am hearing good things and reviews about... Diamond Audio. I'm debating on DA or Focals for my next project. Hmm... Thanks for the post.
