PostSubject: Re: Write-Up: Front & Rear Bumper Modification   Write-Up: Front & Rear Bumper Modification - Page 8 EmptySat Aug 22, 2009 8:58 pm

I guess its too late to think about making the Rivs exhaust tips come through the bumper? Or at least create a couple of cut outs out of the bottom like the Aurora? Either way, I am really excited to see how it comes together, great work.

IIRC, he said he was going to cut holes in the rear bumper cover to accept the tips he bought.
I believe he's leaving it the way it is for now so he can make the molds without the custom cut outs so whoever wants to buy a bumper later can cut them to their spec's.

ive got a question for ya sqrivi. the stock impact beam has bonded to it a dense foam layer. will your design fit over this foam,or will one need to remove it to make way for your bumper?

Once the final part has been made from the mold we can see just how much room is behind the bumper cover and determine if and/or how much the beam needs to be modified to fit. At this point I suspect the foam will have to go.

That part of the bumper will be filled in. In fact the parts were cut off of the mold to start with. You can see they are present in this pic.

Once the bumper is done being shaped they will be reattached. It is just easier to move around the pieces and fit everything without those parts in place.

Latest pics. Just some fitting to the grill to do, along with the pieces between the headlights and grill, smooth everything out, then time for the mold.

Fantastic work Scott, you have a very good eye. The car looks like it could have rolled off the assembly line like that. Those are the kind of modifications I like. Does anyone else think that the opening Scott has created at the bottom can be used to drive fresh air into the intake? twisted
