| I tend to get tired of my cars pretty fast but i think its because the Riv has a worn out paintjob in a color i dont really care for. With my black regal GS i had i fell it love with it every time i seen it but with the Rivs color and the factory alloy 12 spoke rims (sold the chromes to my brother for his white riv) it just doesnt do it for me. Ive always loved PA ultras especially with the huge chrome grill that comes on the 03 and with tint, tinted lights and some nice rims itd be pretty slick not to mention the sleeper effect of a pullied PA with stock exhaust With some body mods and a paintjob im sure ill fall in love with the Riv Again | |

| I like that Black PAU also. I'd trade for one. If for no other reason than to have the 4 doors and it would be easier to get into and out of. Mod the engine and enjoy. | |

| Any word on the front bumper and mold? I'm really interested in this mod and possibly willing to make the drive from NC to get a set this spring. Thanks! | |

| Sorry for the delay. The front bumper has been blocked and primed and blocked and primed and blocked and primed ect.......should be starting on the mold this weekend. Hopefully will have a new 100% fiberglass bumper next week. | |

| I am waiting for more info on this body mod and do plan to buy both a front and rear bumper for my car, which is currently being repaired for a front end collision, so I have an interest in seeing this thread continue.
Rickw, do you plan to spend a grand or more on these parts?

That will be my decision when I see the final product. So it is VERY possible.

| thats what im talking about lol
when you do get around to selling the bumpers will they be one piece finished items? for example would it just need simple prep and paint to mount on the car?
btw i remember reading that you had to cut and shorten the rear bumper bracket to bring the bumper flush to the body, how labor intensive/hard was that?

| That is a question for Tommy. I don't think it would take long to make a set of bumpers though. | |

| sqrivi, I see the front impact bar is inside the mold. Is it there to mock up the clearance needed for the new bumper or is it being used to strengthen the mold? Concerning the front, it seems like you would have to move back the frame locations for the impact bar mounts rather than modify the impact bar itself. When I install my new bumpers I plan to use some straight aluminum channel, at least in the front. Does that sound doable. Not too sure about the rear??? | |

| The bar is in the plug to keep it from flexing during the mold making process. A straight bar or box tube would be much easier for the front impact beam. The rear can be handled just by sectioning the stock brackets. | |

| I don't remember if I mentioned it before, but the marker/turn signal lights on the front bumper are gone. I will be relocating the dual filament bulb (parking light and turn signal) to the corner light next to the headlight. They will serve as the new parking and turn lights. I have new corner lights to replace my yellowed ones. All of the lights will also be tinted and clear coated as well. | |

| Well, here is the latest progress..... Finished laying the three layers of glass in the mold. Time for trimming and removing the new bumper from the mold. Here one of the end sections of the mold has been removed. Other side removed. Center section removed. Here you go.....a 100% fiberglass front bumper. Here is the bumper on the car. The bumper is just placed on the front, it is not bolted in place yet. I am very pleased with the results. Sorry about the quality of pictures. I will get some better ones this weekend. The only fabrication work left is the exhaust cutouts. Then its all about the paint. | |
