| any good photoshoppers want to play with stripes? I don't think I'd ever do it to my car, but I wonder how they'd look on black, if the stripes were red or blue or something. Also I think I'd go a different direction with the stripes, more horizontal less diagonal.
Turtle, are those done? Or are you just testing with some black tape?

| I am not much of a Corvette fan but I have always loved the looks of the Grandsport edition. I think only 2000 were made... | |

| For Chevy it's Grand Sport, but being a Buick it can be a Gran Sport - the twin dia stripes would have no reference to the GS option. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Yes, Grand Sport and Gran Sport have been used a number of times over the years. There is no such thing as Buick Gran Sport stripes, exactly. On my 68 GS350, a factory option was a pair of thinner red parallel stripes along the rocker panel. But that was an option all by itself, not a std GS detail. | |

| This is black tape - heavy duty electrical tape actually I could never do it for real but If the tape looks good enough and holds up, why not | |

| This was on a whim on my way home today, red electrical tape on sale so I got it to try the idea. I agree, I think thicker and it'd probably do alright even with my wheels | |

| I had mine for a little while and got my fill of it I guess. I was just using like 2" thick black electrical tape and after a while it would start to recede from the sun or something and then looked like shit. I tried to elbow grease it the 2nd time and it did the same thing so it was over at that point. My friend has the actual tape they make for this purpose from pepboys or something and his seem to be keeping up alright. He layered the tape with equal stepover to get thicker stripes out of it. | |

| Codith, why are you trying to show the world that your turtle is poisonous? Are you trying to warn people? | |

I don't have the stripes anymore. But the other thing is this; sleepers are awesome but if you pose no threat, people won't notice enough to race you in the first place. I find that to be a problem in this car sometimes

Yeah but wheels aren't really a dead give away. I've had wheels for a good while now and it didn't seem to change much in that aspect. After all I live in chicago which means there's probably more rivieras with rims and sound systems than stock at this point. I see lots of cars on the street with some nice looking wheels, even purposeful to racing, that are on otherwise stock, not-fast cars (so far as I can know).
