Ok I have a 1995 buick riviera and it has a supercharged 3800 motor and the motor went bad at about 70,000 miles, and I was wondering if I could drop just a 3800 motor in it or does if have to be supercharged?

Are you talking about a series II 3800 vs a series I 3800? If so it's a whole different ballgame. Are you talking about dropping a SI N/A 3800 in place of your SI S/C 3800? Would you swap heads and supercharger? I would expect the two blocks to have different compression ratios. Otherwise I haven't heard much about 'top swapping' a Series I.

its got to be a supercharged engine.a local trade school instructor was selling a brand new 3.8 crate motor.he knew all about these engines and told me his 3.8 wouldn't work in my supercharged riv.can't remember reasons.
