tuning tranny questions. Empty
PostSubject: tuning tranny questions.   tuning tranny questions. EmptyThu Sep 10, 2009 1:03 am

ok so as some of you know im getting my tranny next friday.
i have 3 questions.
1.)i am getting a 3.29/2800stall, etc tranny from triple edge. matt and i rode in my car and noticed that with the headers where my power band had shifted to, which is around 3700-5500, but my car shifts at 6000. so im thinking that im not making much more power after 5500-5700 i was going to lower the shift mph to 42mph at wot in the 1-2 shift, but i remembered that im getting new gears, so should i leave it where its at now then see?

2)also can someone show me what i need to do or send me the bin for a 3.29 gear ratio tranny? and what other tranny tuning should be done for the new tranny.

3) how can i make it so i can shift back into my power band. Ive noticed with the headers its really strong at the top of 1st(3700-5500), but after the shift around 58-66 mph its kind of eehh(3000rpm range) untill it gets back into the 3700 range then it starts pulling hard again. and ive noticed with cars ive raced that in the 58-66mphrange is where they gain some distance on me or start coming back then I get in the upper rpms and i stop the pull or pull away more. basically when i shift out of first and into second how can i make the rpms only drop back to the 3700 area?

For starters, you can just lower all your shift point by 11% since that's the gearing change you made. It's a good starting point and you can tweak a little more from there later if you want. Also, you need to know if you changed the reluctor wheel or reused the stock one. There is a setting about how many pulses per revolution that may be changed if you replace this. It's pretty well documented on the dhp forums. I have 3.29 gears and I don't remember about the reluctor wheel in mine, but you can have my bin. Shoot me a pm with your email.
