| I did not see the previous cartoon.
So, As usual I walked into the middle of another movie. No, another Drama.
I will sign out and go away again, as I cannot lose that way.

Dude, all I can say is try to roll with it. It's definitely total bullshit, but like I said above, I spent 2+ weeks with the "pros" at ZZP trying to get their own puller to work right... (Oh, and I think the new duck cartoon is ant- Nazi, so it balances out the shylock... I think Travis is nothing if not an equal-opportunity offender. )

| Well, after I sent a SCATHING email to GMPD yesterday regarding the mess, today I get a BS response from GMPD.He basically ignored everything I said in the email (including that I want my money back) and just apologized for any inconvenience and told me he already ordered the correct parts from GM and would ship them overnight at no cost to me (whenever they receive them)!! I just want my money back to and I want to put this all behind me,however it would appear he is playing hardball with me and ignoring my request. He has the balls to tell me he is just gonna send more parts??I want my money back period!! I have already made arrangements with the local dealership to check out the car on Thursday (tomorrow) at which point they will have the CORRECT parts and do the work by Sat. afternoon. What the hell am I supposed to do at this point?? I don't want to get screwed out of $357.00 by GMPD and end up with an extra set of mounts I don't need. | |

| Unfortunately, I just spent a few minutes looking at the site, and I don't see anything resembling a money-back guarantee... and I'm pretty sure that legally they only have to get you what you bought.
Perhaps if you used honey instead of vinegar, and sent a more conciliatory email explaining how the delay has ruined your schedule and therefore you are getting the job done at the dealer, they might be willing to give you a refund.

| Eldo,I completely agree on the honey metaphor, but unfortunately I have a short fuse when it comes to incompetence.I did send them another email today further explaining my dissatisfaction with their services and how it screwed my schedule etc.I then followed up with a request that I be called on the phone to handle the matter immediately instead of email correspondence(I also threw in that a well known Riviera forum was "watching" this unfold).Well,I got a phone call within 10 minutes of said email from Scott at GMPD who was empathetic to my situation, and offered to give me a full refund. He was still a "company man" however, making sure to emphasize that the order was handled and shipped within the normal time frame as outlined in their shipping policy (albeit the wrong parts were sent).I kinda felt like an ass,but hey I'm a paying customer (not chump change either) and 3weeks wait time for a $357.00 ashtray would have pissed anybody off as far as I'm concerned. The MAIN thing that sent me over the edge was that there was no way of contacting them by phone to handle the issue in a timely manner. Then the guy ignored my email request for a refund and said that he'd be ordering replacements from GM and would send them out when they arrived. All I wanted was a refund so I could handle things properly on my end.Well at least it is handled I am supposed to be getting a credit to my debit card as he was going to do the refund after we finished our phone call. Whew... | |

| Seems to me they tend to be on the less expensive side, which would typically make me not buy them... But I have no direct experience with them, that I recall.

| CPS is not a very good acronym to use, as it could mean crankshaft position sensor, or camshaft position sensor. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

It depends on the level. Standard now makes an 'economy' line, which I don't prefer, and their 'Blue Streak' line, which used to be quite good. However I had a Blue Streak CKP fail after ~2 years, replaced it with a Delphi. That said, in general parts prices at NAPA tend to run a little high and the parts tend to be a good value, usually worth it. Albertj

| Standard Ignition products are good as long as you stay away from their "economy" line. I can't recall what they name it but if it's a red box with "STANDARD" on the side it should be decent quality. | |

| yeah that's the box. i appreciate the comments. years ago when i worked in an autoparts store over the summer,i recall Standard parts being generally accepted by the local mechanics. I also remember some of their line being sub par. so i thought id ask....looks like I'm gonna keep it. thanks a bunch | |

| Totally OT but amusing - here's another Autozone warning: This transaction happened to my brother last week.
Me: Hi, I want to check availability on a rotor and pads for a '98 Riviera, Rear
AZ: Okay, what kind of car?
Me: '98 Buick Riviera
AZ: Okay, '98 Buick Librera.
Me: Huh? That's a Riviera.
AZ: Oh, okay. Front or rear?
Me: Rear.
AZ: Okay, '98 Buick Riviera. The computer says that car only has rear drums, so you want shoes.
Me: No, definitely has discs. '98 Riviera.
AZ: Let me look again. Okay, sorry, We have those in stock. (reads off prices & parts numbers)

| Cotton's is great if you have a GN or Turbo Regal. Place to go! But for FWD 3800s I don't know what he knows. Still a great performance mechanic but the FWD and SC is a bit different. Jack's a great guy though and knows his stuff! If he got into FWD 3800s he would have my support! | |
