| James, Good looking Riv, especially the dark blue interior. I think its officially called "very dark sapphire" - same color interior as my midnight blue riv. Obviously I like this generation Riv (see pic's in my signature). Did you black out the grille, and if so, tell us how you went about it. | |

| That is one sexy Riv. I love the rear end and the interior. Wish I had one of these. | |

| This generation (86-93) is an E body riviera. 86-88 had a vertically chopped rear. The 89-93 had the slant-back/sweep-back rear which increased sales somewhat for a short while. This generation was also known as the "baby riv"....alot smaller in appearance than all previous and future rivs.
Just like 71-73 "boattail" rivs and the 95-99 "football" rivs, people either loved them or hated them and no in between (although you can't compare them at all...like bananas vs. kiwi fruit).
I like them so much that my current inventory includes two '92's. But, I did once own both '96 and '97 rivs (wish I kept the '97) and for a real short while an '85. Sold the '96 & '97 rivs for '99 & '00 Eldorados which I still own today.

I was ready to buy a white one around here but someone bought it out from under me. There's another one that sits in a guys yard with an excellent body and interior but a shot engine. I wish I could grab it.

| You just can't find cars with interiors and luxury appointments that good anymore. Seems like all the new cars push technology as luxury. I love the old interior styling. Not to mention things were made out of real materials, not all plastic. On another note, my old Buick is going to the scrap yard this week. I took the emblem off the hood and the keys. I gotta keep them as a keepsake. I feel like I'm losing a member of the family. | |
