| OBD1. Although look at the DLC under the dash. If it's a perfect rectangle it's OBD1. If the sides are angled towards each other it's an OBD II system. I've seen '95's with either or, depending when the build date is (driver door edge info sticker). Chances are it's OBD1 | |

| It is said to be OBD1.5!!! not much use really. As Scott above said the shape of the socket tells you the style of connector but ive yet to hear of a "95" with OBD2 data.
The data on a 95 is not actually an OBD data stream protocol but is ALDL protocol.
I use a cheap Actron CP9150 super scanner. it will read, clear and realtime scan the OBD no worries.
It WILL NOT read or clear ABS codes.
There is some software you can run on a laptop called EFIlive (version 4) its free but limited unless you pay 170 odd dollars to licence it. This needs a special OBD1 cable with the OBD2 connector to USB connector.
I hope this helps explain the wierdness of the "95" | |

| None of the cheap or laptop scanners will read or clear ABS codes either, the Actron and Matco ABS scan tool will not clear them either, it requires a true scan tool.
Cheapest way if you want to do it yourself is a used Snap On MT2500 with the ABS cartridge. You can grab them from $350 to $500 all day long on Ebay.

| ouch, the scantron cp9145 is $200 at least. I've been checking ebay for them. I was really hoping my $60 actron pocket scanner would work but that's obd2 :-/ | |
