| Hello all, new here. Just stumbled on this great forum and had to register. The problem I am having is the Check engine light came on at wide open throttle last night. My Actron 9145 Scanner stated a code of P0257, description: Turbo boost sensor signal circuit problem. Last time i checked my car didn't have a turbo . If anyone could make heads or tails out of this I would appreciate it. | |

Are you sure it's not P1257? Isn't that also a supercharger overboost code? (Disclaimer: I'm running off of '98 codes, so maybe they trashed the whole heirarcy...)

| Yes P1257 is a "boost problem" code in a '95. P0257 doesn't exist. | |

Right, and Mike doesn't think he has a 'turbo'... Michael, do you have a "supercharger" you haven't told us about?? P.S. - Please fill out your "signature", so folks know what we're dealing with.

| Since this was posted in Supercharged Tech, and Mike has a '95, we can assume it's a Series I Supercharged. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Forgot to go into preferences to attach my signature. Should be working now. Yes it is a 95 buick riviera supercharged the code shows up as P0257. Just checked it 10 minuets ago and still showing on the tool when i check read code option. Maybe my scanner is damaged in some way.
Abaddon what part or electrical item would spring P1257 code?

Abaddon what part or electrical item would spring P1257 code? P1257 is a Boost Solenoid Fault. If you can be sure that this is what is, I can post a flow chart for you to check it.....

| Thanks for the offer. I can't be sure if it is the boost solenoid or not. Looking into placing a boost gauge to see if I am only getting 2-3 psi or the normal 6-7. That should hopefully tell me if there is a problem with it.
Also the check engine light went off today while driving home. Checked with the scanner and still shows the same code.Code has been cleared. Will try WOT again to see if the error code comes up.
