| My '92 has 146k miles on her...can't kill a 3800 v6. By the way the 89-93's were called slant-back rivs. | |

| James...could be it has the Sport Suspension (FE3 option). You can check the RPO label under the carboard cover that lays on top of the spare tire. Soft Suspension = FE1, Sport = FE3. | |

| I looked, they are both fe-2. I think, it is that the body mounts, are in better shape. Less mileage perhaps... My sons 91 Bonneville, has the fe-3. That defiantly makes a big difference in the ride+handling.. | |

| Eldo..I agree that the 67 certainly has a slant back! If I were to buy another Riv it would be either the 66 or 67...great styling (I'm also a Boattail fan). ROA member Woody Combs and his son own a 67 painted Riviera Red that's just about the best one I've seen.
But, the 89-93 Riv rear quarters do curve down (not including the rear window) rather than chopped like the 86-88. Hence, they are called a slant-back. Another name that's been kicked around is Baby Riv since they're smaller than all other generations of Rivs.

My ex got it in the divorce and it then became POS in quick order. (I got the house though)

| If you can find an S/C 3800 and build it up before putting it in the car, that should make for a fast 7th gen. Or you can find an N/A 3800, get forged pistons and etc., and slap a turbo on. If you have other mods that you've been doing to the engine, building up the internals first would give you peace of mind for whatever else you want to do later. | |
