Glad to be here! Empty
PostSubject: Glad to be here!   Glad to be here! EmptySat Apr 21, 2007 4:46 am

I was 12 when I saw my first Hot Rod magazine....and immediately found my 'passion' in life.

Speed up:

I'm now 13 and my brothers car was a custom '56 chev that I was always working on (that everyone assumed was mine).
I'm now 14 and I buy my first 283 junker motor and 'rebuild it' all by myself (poorley, no doubt) but I install it in a '63 pontiac junker and it starts and RUNS ~I'm so proud~)
I'm now 15 and my first real car was a '57 chev.
I'm now 16 and my 5th car is a '63 Hemi Fury.
I'm now 17 and my 10th car is a brand new Trans Am.
18, 19 and 20......four more ranging from 4x4's to Z-28's.

Speed up:

I willingly gave the passion up when I was 21 to have and care for a family. (result? A wonderful wife and four increadable sons)

Speed up:

I'm now 49 and my wonderful children have moved from the nest. So saving on the monthly grocery bill alone....in a few months I have enough saved up for a used corvette!

Speed up:

Two wonderful years later I have my passion in the garage, rebuilding it all. It's just TOO much fun! Driving it. Fixing it. Learning all about it. Racing it. Breaking it. For me, it's a wonderful experience, all of it.

Speed up:

I'm now 51. (sucks to be me) I find a great '95 SC for my wife. I love it and she does too. It's a beautiful car and is in great condition. It's also great value!

ALL THAT TO SAY THIS: My problem is that I'd love the Riv to be my next toy....but my wife would be horrified!

So I ask you all? HOW can I sneak the Riv into my garage claiming a "lube job needed".....while getting another....say.....75 HP out of it?

happy

(Glad to be here, btw. hi

welcome to the forum! i dont know about 75hp on the series 1 engine, but you could always sell it and get a series 2 riv (96+) and then get 75hp smile
take a look at the riv FAQ section for more mod info wink

Welcome to the forum. Cranking out 75hp out of the series one will be challenging. You will get a lot more info over at the bonneville club and by dealing with series one performance

It's not impossible, it will just definately lot seem like the car is undergoing a lube job.

Welcome to the site. I enjoyed the read. Many thanks.

Kudos to a man that has had the best this world has to offer. I am enjoying not identical but similar pleasures.

I recall growing up looking and wishing one of those sweet rides would be mine. Many cars later (several of which are now in my garage), Im doing like Mcdonald's says.... I'm lovin' it!!!

Welcome once again. Share some pics with us when you get some time.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. hi

I was only (sortta) joking about the 75 hp gains. headshot I AM looking forward to fussing with it a little and getting to know it more though.

I agree that a newer year would be best....been reading up on the series II...but that will need to wait. wink
