| There was some discussion on Regalgs.org about bolting Cadillac CTS-V calieprs to our cars. It was pure specualtion. Well..............I got to thinking and............. Thats my old 12.7" rotor in there F-body guys have been doing it. Using a C6 corvette Z06 Rotor (14")... Can it be done???I still don't know, there is a big opstical I ran into. I need 18" Rims with a BIG offset. Opinions? Also anyone have any ideas for the rims?

| my only question is, what kind of tires can keep up with the massive deceleration? my 8" T/A break loose in a heartbeat if i nail the Fbodys. you're gonna need r compound tires to keep up as for the rim's i'm partial to the sts 18" rims, but you may need a spacer to give clearance. side note: any luck on a rear brake upgrade? the 80/20 brake distribution feel more like 95/5 now :/ _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | With my 255 50/17 falkens it is very hard for me to lock them when my ABS fights to keep control. Rear brake upgrade I beleive could be done with Bonneville GXP/ 03-05 PAU rear brakes . Same caliper as our buit the bracket is larger to accomedate a 11.7" rotor. I thought about just changing the caliper brackets on my car.... But Gm wants $80 per bracketr from those year cars. Anyone want to find me a deal to some caliper/ brakcets I mentioned above. My rear brakes need attention anyway.

| Tirerack has silver sport edition ST3's on sale for super cheap, for the Riv. I'd assume they'll work on the SSEI as well. edit - Where did you get the CTS-V calipers from, and how much did they set you back? I checked Rock Auto and they only have the rears BTW what's the difference between the CTS-V brakes and the Camaro brakes? I'm surprised they aren't the same or nearly the same. | |

| The CTS-V brakes are four piston brembo calipers designs for a 14 inch rotor IIRC. The camaro calpiers are two piston designed for a 12 inch rotor. | |

| Gotta get my 18's first - well maybe I should research the brakes before that. Might need 20's to clear them! Brembo is working on bringing the ZR-1's ceramic rotor technology to the mass market. Imagine a Riv with ZR-1 brakes for a moment . . . Man have we ever got to figure out a better braking solution in the rear! Hey, where does one get these CTS-V calipers at? I looked on Rock Auto and they only have the rears Trying to get a price on 2nd gen front calipers. | |

| Do the CTS-V calipers weigh more than the F body calipers? How much more does the 14" rotor weigh over a 12" rotor? | |

| most FWD mid-full sized GM's = 5x115 bolt pattern all late vettes and F-body's = 5x120 bolt pattern
I don't think the 14" rotor will fit our hub and it doesn't look like that 12.7" rotor is gonna cut it for that cts-v caliper
The hubs are not interchangable between the two cars either. I'm pretty sure the size fitting into the spindle is a little different.
Any other options anyone knows of for the rotor? I could see maybe a 2-piece hybrid rotor but that would make the mod extremely expensive.
Oldsman nevermind I guess - too much guesswork for one white boy with no money | |
