| I just picked up a 95 supercharged Riv. Mopars are favorite, but I have always loved Buicks. My friend in college had a 66 Electra convertible. You couldn't hear the motor run, but it would smoke the tires. I've also always loved the 63-67 Rivs. I know a guy that has a 97 Riv that I've done a lot of work on and its a nice car. So I looked on craigslist and found a maroon with maroon leather for $800 - too hard to pass up a deal like that. Its not perfect, but only needs 4-5 minor things to be a good driver. And I got an extra supercharger and a great sound system in the deal. | |

| Welcome to the site Rob and congrat's on what sounds like a good deal.
There's a lot of good info on this site. If you feel you need it. The "Write-Up" Section, accessible from the tab at the top of the page has great stuff in it and the search feature will generally find any other subject you may need as well as much, much more.
Again, welcome and hope maybe you can help some of us here as well.

| Please be sure to set up a Signature with info about your car (year/color/mileage/modification).
Please post somthing about the problems you are working on , on the car, after you run a 'search' of the site to find out if someone's tackled those problems before.
Thanks and welcome aboard
Albertj

| Welcome Robb, good to have you here. There's a fellow who has done work on my Riv where I live named Rob too, which is pretty funny.
This site is full of excellent information on these vehicles. Enjoy!

| Thanks for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to getting it fixed up a little. There are a lot of scraps and dents and scratches, but it runs good. The guy I got it from gave a laundry list of what he did to it, and from what I can see he wasn't lying. He is also the head of vehicle maintenance for a large plaza, so that is a good thing.
The exhaust is brand new, but it leaks around the cheap clamps....Looks like a trip to the weld shop. I'm also debating about removing the Supercharged emblem off the back. Less reason to get pulled over and more of a sleeper is always a good thing, lol.
I haven't gotten it on the road yet, but thats only a few days away. Oh, and BMD....if we have twins, my car would be the one that was the crazy risktaker bro....everything works fine, but a lot of cuts and bruises.

Oh, and BMD....if we have twins, my car would be the one that was the crazy risktaker bro....everything works fine, but a lot of cuts and bruises. A 'plan B' would be to install "guillotine" clamps instead of the ones that are on there. They have a C-shaped bolt and a skinny metal hasp instead of the wide stamped one. Another 'plan B' clamp would be like the ones Volvo used in the '80s - they were one stamped and rolled piece, went all the way around the pipe and had a fairly small bolt to clamp shut. Older parts guys know what those clamps are. Try a NAPA. Plan "c" would be to put on band clamps (pricey) usually you see those only on polished SS exhausts. All of which make welding sound good. | I have a welding shop that Ive never paid more than $40 to get anything done, and they are excellent. I once had a 3" duel custom exhaust done for $35 years ago, I had it all cut and ready to go for them and cash deal, so yeah I'll be going to them.
