Heavy. I am sure almost any decent aftermarket you get will be lighter.

they are not as heavy as they look. but most aftermarket wheels are lighter than stock ones. (provided the same size and metal) i want to say the stock ones are ~23lbs but thats just a educated guess.
a 16" rim will be about 20lbs and go up 1-2lbs per inch you increase. tires weigh differently too so keep that in mind. lighter is better but 2 wheels of the same weight;the one with less weight on the edge will be better for both speed and the tranny wink

I meant heavy as a relative term. Like heavy compared to aftermarkets for the most part.

Good luck on your search, James

By stock alloy, do you mean the signature rims? I have one off the car, I could weigh it. I have been curious myself.

yea i ment the non chrome stock wheels. i would think the chrome plating would up the weight slightly.
do you have the 8spoke or 12 spoke design?
let us know what you find out on the weight

I weighed a wheel and tire today. I weighed it a few times, on a couple scales, getting different results each time naturally. My best guess for the stock 7 spoke wheel/tire combo is 45 lbs.

I don't think so. Deflating the tires was a recommendation from the Fed Ex guy for some reason. I wasn't paying attention...

I quickly checked Tire Rack to get a ballpark figure - randomly clicked on a Dunlop Winter Sport M3 for 16" rim - 25 lbs - and a 16" American Racing Razor - 21.5 lbs. Total - 46.5 lbs.

Looking at Kumho Ecsta All-Season for 16" rim - 28 lbs for a 225.

Anyone know the part number for the chrome 7 spoke wheels in 96? I'm getting two different numbers from the dealers, some say 9592594 or 9592762.

9592762 is the 12 spoke painted gray metallic with the painted flange. I think '95 chromes were 12362275 (cap 9592595) and 98-9 chromes were 12365457 (same cap)

Thanks Albert, 9592595 is also the correct part number for the chrome center cap in 96 aswell. So if the12 spoke painted gray metallic is part number 9592762, the correct part number for the 7 spoke chrome wheel in 96 must be 9592594.

you can check the p/ns in gmpartsdirect.com, on the main page there is a box on the left to put in PNs and get prices and details.
