Does anyone know about coil packs?
Are the coil pack modules replaceable individually, or do you have to replace the whole unit(3 modules, 2 plugs @). My son has a 95 3800 in a buick regal. The first module from the front of the engine has no plugs firing. I don't know if it is a coincidence that both plugs from that module are bad or if it is the module. He was going to try changing the plugs.first. Easier fix. Anybody with experience in this area that could give some insight, would be appreciated.......

You can change just the one coil pack. I think they are about $30 a piece.

to be sure it's the coil, you can temporarily swap it with one of the other coils.

Where do you get them at 30 bucks a piece? Tell me. The cheapest I know is like 50 a piece.

My son and I went to Auto Zone (in Muskegon, Mi).and got a coil pack module last nite and it was $23.99 for a 1995 Buick Regal 3800. It took about 3 minutes to change it. Probably one of the easiest fixes I've ever done. My son started his Buick up and it ran like a buick should. He's a happy boy and me too! Thank you guys for your help. Old guys can work on old cars, but these new computer controlled one are normally a lot more involved..... thumbsup
