Welcome, now where are the Pic's. Mandatory must have pic's. J/K First question: Do you have a set of Factory Service Manuals.? If you have a Vat's problem all questions and ultimately most answers will come from the FSM for your year car, as each is slightly different. And what makes you think you have a VAT's problem with a stalling issue. Please add the mileage in your sig as well. Need to know how many miles are on the vehicle as well.

| VATS issue may be unrelated to stalling/ rough idle problem, but deff. VATS problem. Sometimes several attempts to start before security light does not trigger and car starts. FSM on the way now. along with OBD II scanner will add mileage to sig asap. | |

| Thanks AA, and everyone for the warm welcome. I have been reading that thread thoroughly. part of why i decided to sign up. I understand the stalling and VATS are unrelated. sorry I have given everyone the idea otherwise. VATS has been an issue for me for a while now. stalling is another much newer problem. Recommend any good threads for stalling? | |

| That depends. Does it start right back up? Is the SES light on? Are there certain conditions present when it happens? or is the stalling totally random? | |

| Yes, so far starts back up, no SES light. would say happens while coming to stop at a light. either period of rough idle followed by stall, or just steady drop in rpm to stall. then restart and drive with little incident.(usually only once per trip, maybe 10 miles) **note** last stall resulted in very rough idle upon restart, | |

Sounds like ignition switch for the start/no start and rough idle is something else. It will take a while to sort it all out. Ign switch not too $$ bad (you can keep the old *lock* and just replace the switch) if you DIY. Albertj
